I have to say whatever idiot dreamed up this new feedback system, especially
preventing sellers from leaving anything other than positive feedback, needs
firing with immediate effect. You have no doubt had or read similar
sentiments from other sellers so I won't go on about it. Suffice to say that
if Ebay were not in such a strong position & had a viable competitor I'd be
jumping ship with my business based on this lunacy.
It leaves us wide open to feedback blackmail from buyers and no way or
warning other sellers about rogue non paying bidders. I know Ebay are saying
they will pay more attention to these things but let's face it, that's
highly unlikely to happen to any great effect.

But a lot of our items are bulky, and quite expensive, so we don't offer
Paypal and say "cash on collection" or "cheque, wait a week to clear"
If we had to offer paypal, fees would be too costly, plus we wouldnt have
proof of delivery if there were to be a paypal dispute.

That sort of data exchange/usage would probably result in them falling
foul of the Data Protection Act in a big way. So I doubt they could do
it anytime soon. Just because eBay own PayPal, it doesn't give them an
automatic right to use data held by PayPal especially when it is being
used to say how trustworthy/credit worthy their users are.
Cheers

There is probably something in the terms and conditions about you
consenting to that.
