Missed this one when posted. I pay for the hosting of the above site
annually and have spent many thousands of hours on it over the last 6 years.
It is nice therefore to see my website events calendar mentioned out of the
blue here!! It is also a reminder that it needs constant weeding, pruning
and planting as sessions are changing faster than I can change my socks.

Jack - it would be good to see you in Buxton and hear you play. You can have
a guest spot at BCA - no bother. There's a session or two accessible from
here every day of the week. So no shortage of live music if you can travel
to them.

Buxton sessions in March:
Club Acoustic group (jam) session - Weds 5th and Weds 19th Prince of Wales,
Buxton, 2 Fairfield Rd (A6) - Group playing session - round the room with
people leading - 8.30-12.00 or sometimes a bit later

Dad's Army theme on Asda adverts

Author: Steve Mansfield
Date: Jan 29, 2008 12:20

The new Tesco v Asda adverts have a brass-band-ska/reggae verson of the
Dad's Army theme as the soundtrack - does anybody know what band/record that
version is from?

I know Dad's Army stretches the folk music envelope a wee tad, but I just
thought someone might know. All I could find on Google was lots of
conspiracy theories about how Asda are saying that Tescos are Nazis (because
the arrows representing Tescos are where the German arrows were in the
original Dad's Army credits sequence) ...

And, thinking about it, is this a post that gets both a horse alert AND
Godwin's Law into about two sentences?
