Back in the 80s, there was a trilogy of stage plays called WARP
(later done as a comic book) about two god-like brothers, Lord
Cumulus (the good guy) and Lord Chaos (the bad guy). Lord Chaos
was out to destroy the universe, prompting one character to
say, "But if he destroys the universe, where is he going to
*live*?"

That was pretty much my reaction to Davros' plan and other Big
Bad mission statements.

To my mind, the real problem with the Daleks going along with
this plan is more along the line of "But if they're alone in
the universe, what are they going to *do*?" It seems like their
only purpose in life is to exterminate non-Dalek life forms.
So if they succeed in doing that, what will they do instead?
Take up the piano? Bonsai? Make baby Daleks? Start exterminating
each other?

Same here. They're just giant salt shakers with a toilet plunger
on the front.

Favorite line of the episode...

The Doctor: "But who would create such a thing? Well, obviously,
someone named Osterhagen, but..."

More to the point, the implication is that Mickey and Martha will
replace Owen and Tosh in Torchwood.

Same universe. After the first trip to that parallel universe,
Rose came back with The Doctor while Mickey stayed behind to
help fight the Cybermen, and to stay with his Grandmother who'd
died in his own universe. If memory serves, Jackie had also
stayed behind to stay with that universe's version of her dead
husband.

In "Army of Ghosts"/"Doomsday", the Cybermen from that parallel
broke through to the "real" universe. When the portal between
universes closed, Rose became trapped in that parallel along
with her mother and Mickey.

Exactly. He still cared for Rose, and remained her friend, but
it was late in the Eccleston season that he realized that he'd
lost Rose to The Doctor, and left to go off on his own.

The question I have is about Mickey and Captain Jack. Here they
acted like old friends, but I don't recall Mickey being in any
of the Captain Jack eps in Season 1. Maybe I need to revisit
those.
