EL POLICIA - Manchester band taking over Radio 1 / NME / Manchester Evening News

EL POLICIA
www.myspace.com/elpolicia

"Top Teen Talent" - Manchester Evening News

"One of Manchester's top teen bands....they have the back up to deliver on
their burgeoning potential" Clash Magazine

"Like the Monkeys meets Nirvana" NME

"One of the most exciting new bands to come out of Manchester in ages, and i
ought to know i've listened to hundreds of them since we started this
thing." Danny McNamara - The Aftershow / Embrace

''El Policia are the rock band that Manchester's been waiting for, a band
where the music matches the image and the haircuts and are prepared to make
a riotous noise rather than a emo slitting Black Parade.'' - Designer
Magazine

And they've got some decent songs too - gritty, energetic power-pop tunes
whose punk roots are very much in the British suburbia of the 1977 second
wave. - www.manchestermusic.co.uk

Manchester's next big thing EL POLICIA, definitely all ones for the future!

  A seasonal mystery...

There isn't an aweful lot on the wireless these days but one thing I
listen to every day is Talksport and in particular, the John Gaunt phone
in program between 10am and 1pm.

Its a bit like an aural rendition of the Daily Mail but sometimes there
is some sense talked.

What has been doing my head in over the past week, is the continual
parroting of a script about how at this time of year, its very important
to know the Gas Emergency service telephone number, that you should make
a note of it,store it in your mobile, that they are there 24 hours to
come to your assistance.

This does puzzle me.

What is the difference between Christmas and any other time of year? Do
the gas molecules all get together in their respective pipes and
conspire, like some Fawkeish seasonal plot, to bring doom to us all?

Do pipes, valves and appliances leak more during the Christmas holidays?

I would say no. There is no difference in leakage rates on Christmas
day/boxing day/New years day and new years eve than there is on any
other day.

So why promote the service?

On Mon, 17 Dec 2007 11:52:48 +0000, a particular chimpanzee,

the keyboard and produced:

Look on M'cr's Planning website (Public Access). If you have been
notified, you'll have the planning reference. From there, you can
download the plans with the application, one of which will be a
location plan.
