Revealed by Fox News, proprietor R. Murdoch, not a man of cheap media.
"Viscount Linley was criticised last year for auctioning personal
possessions left to him by his mother, the Queen's sister."
The Queen's nephew, Viscount David Linley, has been named as the victim
of an extortion plot as it emerged the bail hearing for one of his
accused blackmailers will be held privately in an attempt to prevent more
details from leaking out.
A British writer, Nicholas Davies, dared to utter Viscount Linley's name
in an interview with Fox News in the US yesterday about the "sex and
drugs" video blackmail attempt as British media outlets strained under a
legal gag preventing them from naming the royal victim.
But Davies and the British legal system were well behind the many web
chatrooms and unofficial news sites that named the viscount days ago.
Viscount Linley, 46, is the son of the late Princess Margaret and is 12th
in line to the throne. He was appointed chairman of the auction house
Christie's last December and owns an upmarket furniture business.
