I am trying to help a person who is slow of study with a debt he owes.
He has received letters dated 18/04/08 and 18/06/08 from a debt
collection agency regarding the recovery of £2136.76 which is owed to
Thames Water.
He has since received a letter from a firm of solicitors marked "FINAL
NOTICE" and that court proceedings will be issued on 07 July 2008. The
letter mentions court costs and that he must pay before the above date.
He has also received a letter from Welsh Water dated 03/03/08 from
Welsh Water - Dwr Cymru stating "DISCONNECTION OF WATER SUPPLY.
I am going to act on his behalf as he is incapable of doing so himself.
I intend to offer the Thames Water Company £5.00 per week which is all
he can afford. Do you think that will be acceptable ?
Also I do no understand why he was issued with a letter from Welsh
Water - Dwr Cymru stating disconnection would take place. The flat of
my friend is actually in the region of Welsh Water.
