This is a regular posting of the charter of uk.games.video.misc. Please
direct any enquiries to the newsgroup.
====================================
Charter of uk.games.video.misc (Not Moderated)
Group for the UK-centric discussion of all aspects of the video-game
industry, except those for which existing newsgroups exist in the
uk.games.video.* hierarchy.
Although the focus will primarily be the discussion of current gaming
technology (including - but obviously not limited to - PCs, N64s,
Saturns, Amigas), discussion of older systems are more than welcome.
Discussion of the publications available for the video-games user
(whether printed or electronically published) is allowed.
Announcements of websites containing information relevant to the
newsgroup (eg. tip sites, review sites, etc) are welcome.
Hints and tips would also be welcome, but should be indicated either in
the subject line, or by adding a warning and sufficient "spoiler space"
within the post.
"MCIBTYC" (My Computer/Console Is Better Than Your Computer/Console)
flamewars are dull, pointless and therefore to be avoided at all costs.

Apollo Justice. I'm in the middle of the third trial, and I finally
know the name of the game. I have an idea who could be guilty, and
hopefully I'll be able to prove it this weekend.
UefaEuro2008. Only 8 days to go until the real thing starts, so I'll
be playing this while looking forward to the Swiss team winning
absolutely everything....ahem.
Test Drive Unlimited. Maybe. I'll probably just drive around for a
bit, which I find very relaxing.
Stag-night. Not mine, he. High chance for a headache. So maybe not
much gaming on Sunday?

Last Week:
1. Qualify for and win Euro2008 in Captain Your Country mode.
SUCCESS: Currently on my second run through, playing as a Ukrainian
midfielder this time.
2. Get a guitar achievement and a singing achievement (assuming it works
like that) in Rock Band.
SUCCESS: Sort of. Technically, the only instrument-specific achievements are
for finishing solo career. I've been playing Band World Tour, taking turns
singing and playing guitar, and have unlocked several achievements along the
way. Unbelievably, I managed to complete a song (on vocals) on Hard last
night. :O
3. Unlock the middle island in GTA IV.
FAILURE: Temporarily abandoned in favour of shiny new things last week. I'm
determined that this is going to be my most played game this week, though...
4. Complete episodes I to III on Lego Star Wars: TCS.
FAILURE: Played through epI in one sitting, and did the first 4 or 5 levels
of epII, but haven't gone back to it since.
This Week:

V stands for....
V the Computer Game (C64). Absolute rubbish 'based' on the tv space soap
opera that was V. Had this bought for me as a present, and had to resort
to phoning Ocean up as I could not get out of the first room. Stupid
illogical door puzzles FTL. No instructions were included, so being
presented with two or so alien characters and expecting to realise that
is was a door puzzle was a bit of a stretch.
Valhalla (spectrum). Don't know why, but this game had something
special. Typing text commands at the Norse gods and have them totally
ignore your commands was great fun. And then they would start hitting
each other with axes. I think that's all I ever got it to do.
