In this day and age I think this should at best be some sort of
toggleable option, and at worst you should at least be prompted to save
(eg. in the way SM64 does it). However, does Beautiful Katamari
autosave? Does it bollocks. Not only that but unless I missed
something it doesn't actually tell you this until you switch back on to
find you have to start again, and the manual doesn't count (if it's in
there).

My copy of Apollo Justice just turned up. And I completely forgot I'd also
bought Sonic Genesis (GBA) and Gauntlet & Rampart (GBA) at the same time. Yay
for retro stuff!
And a copy of Ecolis for the DS, which is probably completely unfathomable in
Japmanganese, but was only £2.50.
What have *you* forgotten you've ordered?

Went into my little office today and found my colleague hogging my beloved
Windows 2000 pc (built by myself). He usually uses the XP box but that's
beeping upon bootup and there was a burning smell. I don't want to get into
troubleshooting that right now as I have a million things to do.
Given how much a new office pc would cost I'm suggesting we just buy a new
one to give us a few new bells and whistles and stow this one til I have a
chance to look at it later in the summer.
Sooooo....I'm a bit behind now with pc specs and all but what I was hoping
someone might point me to is the kind of spec suitable for office apps and
development work - which probably isn't high-spec but I still want something
quick. I also want to use two 19" monitors with it so I can have a code
editor permanently on one screen, that sort of thing. The more difficult
bit is that I wouldn't mind the option of installing Windows 2000 but I
guess that's going to be more and more tricky as vendors drop driver
support.
If anyone can suggest a supplier (I'm trying to avoid Dell for once) I would
be most grateful or ideas on what kind of system I should be looking at
these days.
thanks!

Play.
Forza 2 (360) Just some time trials on Arcade for about half an hour on
Saturday. Didn't get anywhere near the times I wanted so tinkered for a
while and then gave up. The wine I drank at lunchtime probably didn't help.
Mass Effect (360) I've had this for about six weeks now and felt in the
mood for a little lethargic character/story development on Sunday
afternoon as I was feeling the effects of massive alcohol consumption
the night before. I like it so far, the story has me intrigued, the
combat system seems to be making sense though I think I may do a bit of
reading up on guides and faqs as I'm not very practiced at RPGs in any
shape or fashion. Still, I have two weeks of uninterrupted access to the
TV starting Wednesday night, so I should be able to get through this, at
the very least.
Want.
Can't think of any games I want as I have Burnout Paradise, Mass Effect,
Sega Rally, MotorStorm, PGR4 all barely started, with Assassin's Creed,
Tomb Raider Anniv, GTAIV, Fight Night Round 3, NHL 2K7 in various states
of incompletion, as well as Oblivion, Okami and Super Mario Galaxy.

I was thinking about this years E3 coverage and noted that this year we only
got one demo for download on xbox live, whereas last year there were a
handful or more. Last years was quite exciting but somehow this year seems
to have died a death.
Then it got me thinking that maybe it was because E3 is no longer the big
convention it used to be and perhaps Leipzig has become a more important
event.
Are we to expect a nice flood of content to come through the games
convention?
I am pretty disappointed with the show so far and am looking forward to
maybe some more arcade games and demos.

Some of that, no doubt.
Playing? As usual, I don't know for certain, but I will try some of the
following.
Burnout Paradise (360 Fun as it is, I suspect that I will get bored of
the single player game far sooner than the multiplayer larks.
Um, that's probably it for definites. Might try a bit of Forza 2 for the
beteo TT. Possibly some Halo 3 or COD4 for multiplayer as well.
Should get back to GTA4, but that's going in the pile of games that will
be played come next Wednesday evening when the ladies of the house
depart for sunnier climes for a couple of weeks leaving me to my own
devices :)

My turn to be bored and tot up the votes...
With relatively few people voting, I've had to employ a tie-break system
whereby games with the same number of points are seperated by the number of
different people voting for the game. This gives us:
1. Super Mario Bros 3 (19)(5)
2. Zelda II: Link's Adventure (8)(2)
2. Bubble Bobble (8)(2)
2. Final Fantasy (8)(2)
5. Super Mario Bros 2 (5)(3)
With the following missing out by virtue of the tie-break:
6. Wizards and Warriors (5)(1)
6. RC Pro Am (5)(1)
6. Legend of Zelda (5)(1)
6. Super Mario Bros (5)(1)
Super. :)

Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning (PC) - This week I finally received
my closed beta invite for the guild testing phase and so far I've found
it to be [NDA]
Burnout Paradise (360) - hopefully will find someone online to try the
various multiplayer modes.
maybe even get around to trying
Lego Indiana Jones (P3)
