Am I blind or it it impossible to get bathroom sanitaryware in anything
except white these days? Are we victim to the whims of the fashionmeisters?
I've just been around several sheds and all over the web and nothing but
white white white.
OK, some coloured suites *were* in very bad taste, but where're the peaches,
the light greens and the pinks?
Seriously... I might have to refit a bathroom, hence the interest...
Personally, I like peach. But whether that is a faux-pas or not, I'm
surprised by the apparent absence of choice.
Cheers
Tim

my wall units are in place with a splashback and chimney extractor.
i'm here to ask the best way of lining up the base units with the wall
units. the problem is that the worktop and upstand are already in
place so i cant just draw a straight line down from the wall
cabinets. what would be the best way of finding the correct position
of the base units, such as the oven housing which is meant to go
straight below the hob and extractor?

Anyone know of a small spiral-ratchet (yankee-type) screwdriver which
takes standard hex-shaft screwdriver bits?
Struck me it would be ideal for fixing pipe clips as the cordless drill is
invariably tied up with a drill bit so I usually end up driving the screws
with an ordinary screwdriver.

Hi
The rubber door seal on the tumble dryer finally fell apart a while ago,
and I've got a replacement for it.
I then realised I don't really know how to replace it! It *looks* like
I could remove the four screws from around the hole in the front panel,
but I'd be grateful if anyone could offer advice before I do it and risk
hearing stuff dropping into the bottom of the machine.
Thanks in advance.

I used one for the first time today. No batteries, no extension leads and no
petrol. And it did what it was supposed to do.

I was at our daughters yesterday and she asked me a question that I
could not answer. She is on Economy 7 with storage heaters and she wants
to know that if she got panel heaters would she spend less on electricity.
She works between dropping off her daughters until picking them up from
school, so there is no requirement for heating during the day except
Sat/Sun.
I will be back down there next weekend to do some calcs and discus it
with her.

This house was built within the last two years. Three stories, with
bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. No loft space or tanks up
there.
The plumber was employed by the builder, and said to me that I ought
to have the plumbing looked at by a professional every five years or
so and in the the meantime all I needed to do was to keep the system
pressure around 1.0 bar, which he showed me how to do. I've since
found out that he told my wife to check the filter every so often, but
didn't tell her how to do it or where it was.
Now I could ring the builder and get the plumber's number and fetch
him round for a tutorial but, to be honest, he wasn't a nice guy, he
was sarcastic and abrupt.

An architect told a friend that there was some change in the regs due in
a couple of years which will make loft conversions "more difficult", so
he should get on with it now.
Has anyone heard of this?
I was under the impression that the government was rather pushing
councils to ease-up due to the housing shortage.
