  Wifi in iBooks

Author: Jaimie Vandenbergh
Date: May 9, 2008 16:39

My sister has an iBook of currently-unknown model, and happened to
mention that it isn't much use in her current student digs due to not
having wifi.

Are wifiless iBokos generally able to be upgraded to wifi? If yes, is
there a standard Airport card that'll work in any, or do I have to
talk her into working out exactly which model she has?

Cheers - Jaimie

Apple working on its own Wiimote?
Posted by Mike Yamamoto

Microsoft may not be the only one looking to develop its own Wiimote-
like game controller. Apple is researching a 3D remote of its own,
according to AppleInsider.

http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/bto/20080509/appletv_340x163.jpg
The Apple TV and its current remote control.

The research, reportedly outlined in a November 2006 patent filing
disclosed this week, describes a device that would work similarly to
the Nintendo Wii controller "in video games to position a user's
character or to otherwise track the movement of the remote control in
a user's environment." The remote would apparently be designed to work
with Apple TV as its console.

The device would also use some of the multitouch features seen on
other Apple products, including the iPhone and MacBooks. According to
the filing, it would "zoom into and out of an image or a portion
thereof based on the absolute position of the remote control."

I think you've possibly mis-read it.

It's great. Word of The Month material. Rowland, I salute you. And
that's not an insult or me being sarcastic - 'tossposts' is a fabulous
word.

You hadn't heard that before? That is very much a school expression I
would say. Or at least it was in our school.

Hallelujah! I've got some popcorn left if you want it.

Although he must be commended for the neologism 'tossposts' which I
think is quite delightful and somehow apt.
