From OE on an iBook with OS9.2.2 to Apple Mail on an Intel MacMini with
Tiger, with the help of a 1GB flash drive, I found that
OE > Entourage > Apple Mail
was fast and reliable and complete.

It's a few months since I did it, and I can't now remember whether
either step required a downloaded script.

Where is it? On your desktop? At the root of your drive (ie at the level
of Applications, System, Library and Users)?

Do you use any backup systems or undelete utilities? This sounds
familiar to me - maybe Retrospect?

What does it contain? Files you created, or system-ey looking files?

NB, if it's actually called "lost+found" (rather than "lost and found"),
it may have something to do with running fsck. Have you run this
manually? Have you had your Mac crash out (completely) on you recently?

It'll usually be on the Software Restore disc. Otherwise you could just
copy over the Appleworks folder, and the folders in the
Library/Application Support folders (root and home).

Jolly good.

Now I have to find an installer. I have 6.2.9 on this iG5, but I have no
recollection of where I got it- probably from an installation disk for
an earlier Mac, and then online updates. I'm not sure I can get all that
stuff together now. I shall have to see...

Hi

I have a 'lost and found' folder on my drive and it's taking up 1Gb of
space. Can I safely delete it or might this result in problems?

Cheers

AppleWorks 6.2.9 runs perfectly here on an intel MacBook Pro.

Apple's support page for Appleworks says "AppleWorks has been
discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. There will be no
further software updates. To find out more about iWork'08, the complete
productivity suite from Apple, go to: http://www.apple.com/iwork/"

which I think is a bit cheeky calling it "complete" when iWork doesn't
have the drawing, painting and database modules of AppleWorks, although
I understand you can do basic object drawing.

Electronic Music Guide There are many ways to enjoy music and
sometimes it just depends on your mood or your activities. You
probably wouldn't study for your finals while listening to dance
music, and you wouldn't dance to a Beethoven symphony, so all kinds of
music can have their ideal .
