But is it? A proper noun, I mean. I always felt the internet was a tool,
an enabling device, something like a gearbox. Not a Gearbox.

No real opinion, it seems about the only game in town on
price/performance although it's a slow drive. No point in waiting for
something better either AFAICs. All the 500GB drives announced are
12.5mm. SSD seems to be the next big thing with Samsung announcing 256GB
9.5 mm drives but no prices and I guess £veryamusing.

Fujitsu MHZ2320BJ, 320Gb, SATA, 7200rpm, 9.5mm. Costs about twice as
much as the Toshiba though.

I wonder if you can answer a simple question.
When hard drive companies sell, for example, a 250GB hard drive which
definition of a gigabyte are they using?
Is it
a. 1024MB
or
b. 1000MB?
also, cocks

Nope. Three main reasons:
1) by now the thing is practically family;
2) it usually moves faster than I do; and
3) after it has been eating mouldy stuff??
PS: what's with this shameless erudition, gel? Will you soon be
calling Macs by their Linnean names? Are you being, um, wanton?

Anyone using a Western Digital MyBook [1] hooked up to the USB port on
an Airport Extreme? I am having problems and it seems possible that the
MyBook is falling over under heavy load, and dragging the Airport with
it. Unlikely, but I'm just troubleshooting...

[1] Specifically an 'Essential' edition 500GB in my case.

I was thinking of updating my macbook pro, as it is so full I am having
to lose things off it that I actually use.
Does anyone have an opinion on, or knowledge of the Toshiba MK3252GSX
320GB drive? It seems the right size (9.5mm).
Any other options?
