Pat's Note: Half the problem with Britain's State Veterinary Service is that
they are actually not interested in animal health, only in "Disease Free
Status." Which seems to be a first step towards a gong.
I can't count the number of times we have had an outbreak of animal disease
and have been reassured by these exact words from this bunch of incompetent
crooks.
If they can't justify their claim of "MRSA Free Status" for the pigs pretty
damn sharp, Surrey and the rest of Britain will have "SVS Free Status."
The skids are under Britain's bent government vets.
Brown will have to sack them, with pension free status, or face a full scale
onslaught from all sides, that he cannot possibly survive.

Bat tests positive for rabies
A bat found injured in Surrey has tested positive for a strain of rabies,
the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said.
...but it does not affect the UK's rabies-free animal health status, the
department said.

Missing some sheep, so I am moving around to try and find them.
yesterevening I was passing a ram breeders field, and noticed him checking
rams, so stopped to chat. The number of rams was less than other years, he
would usually have 60+. This year something about 30. Reason?. Poor sales
last Autumn, and even at that, some of his customers gone to corn.

I think anything you say can be discounted as nonsense. You are a
liar, fake, cheat, fraud and CONservation hooligan who thinks
conservation is about milking it for all it's worth in financial gain.
You alone have pretty much destroyed any credibility the RSPB, BTO,
SNH etc had.
You are a leech, a canker on society. These days we just treat you as
a joke and with the contempt you deserve.
You copied, some would say stole, Konters excellent book on grebes and
claimed it as your own work. When exposed as a liar, cheat and fraud
you went on to bully, cajole, intimidate and threaten your victims.

Pat's Note: I have never been completely sure whether PMWS mutated in
Northern Ireland in early 1999 and spread to East Anglia or the other way
round. It is not that important.
What is certain is that the mutated form hit Ireland early and hard. It
actually closed Britain's only pig testing station, which happened to be in
the province.
The "new" superbug Steno seems to date from 1999 too. Too many
co-incidences, don't you think?
This is the headline in the Belfast Telegraph
"Steno superbug has been here for over a decade"
fascinatingly dated Saturday May 10 (it is currently the morning of Friday 9
May).
Mind you, nothing is ever quite what it seems in Belfast. I'm allowed to say
that since I'm directly descended from the most awkward and colouful of
Belfast's sovereigns (Lord Mayor to everyone else).
Perhaps thats where I get my genial and forgiving nature from, what do you
think, Peter?
Anyway, nice to help the authorities there track down the source of Steno.

Pat's Notes: I do not find this convincing. The vaccine may work well, I
hope it does, but the reason for much of the surplus is the Canadian
admission of PMWS in their herds and pork.
The American's can't buy the piglets as usual. They know that with the
coming of COOL (Country of origin labeling) the Canadian pork from these
animals may well be unsaleable to the consumer in the US.
You can't really expect them to shout "stinking fish" but equally we are all
entitled to query their explanation for massive culls of both piglets and
breeding stock.
The situation, once human health becomes involved is complicated. They can
console themselves that they have done far better than Britain in handling
what is essentially an ethical issue.

Government to cull swine

weathering what is amounting to a perfect storm.

Pat's Note: This lady is an Assistant Proffessor. This is not going to go
away.
Britain has to release the bad news that its state vets have been covering
up animal epidemics with human health implications and take the necessary
precautions protect the hospitals. The courts can deal with the vets and
their associates later.
The first duty of any government is to protect its citizens. That they have
failed to protect the children, the old and the sick for a decade is a
damning indictment.
That they should collude with others to seek to attempt to intimidate the
whistle-blowers simply mind boggling.
