Indeed, but not for the Canon or any other "branded"make. It really
depends what you are after and which features/performance is important
to you as there is a vast array of digital cameras and some apparently
good deals turn out to be lemons when you look at the spec/reviews. Its
not just lens/picture quality either, but perhaps ease of use, the
cycle time between power up and ability to take first shot, or the
latency between pressing the button and actually taking the picture
(one I was looking at took a 1.6 seconds which is ridiculous), or the
time lag between taking one shot and being able to take another etc
etc.
