WTB: Decent laser printer

Hi all,
i`ve currently got a Laserjet 5 with the additional 500 capacity paper tray,
and i`m looking for something with a bit more kick :-) I`m regularly
printing a few hundred pages at a time, so a faster printer with more paper
capacity would be nice. Networkable is an essentialy, and I`d appreciate
being able to print on both sides of the paper easily.

I`d rather have an older printer built like a tank than a modern piece of
plastic given the choice, but was wondering if anyone has anything up to the
job on offer? I`m near Liverpool/Warrington/Manchester for colelction, to
minimise postage costs :-)

Shame you are so far away, or I would have made you an offer for the "5".

Second that: the 5si is an excellent unit and the Mopier unit is often included.

The interface is very flexible, we have the JetDirect Ethernet on ours, but the
standard unit comes with parallel as well. All of the electrinics comes out on a
tray with memory expansion slots etc etc.

Cartridges go for £35 or so on ebay, spare non-working machines from £15 on
ebay. We have two machines here which were bought for parts.

They are HEAVY, not a one-man job to pick up or move, promise!

When you're past 60yrs, you don't go round deliberately looking for things that
will give you back strain! :-))

I have moved it by myself but it is not something I'd recommend.

Nah I stopped dealing in printers years ago. New ones are so cheap & there
is so much to go wrong with second hand ones (I do not refurbish) they're
not worth the hassle to a box-shifter like me when there are far more
lucrative pies I have my little fingers in. :p

That's great. They (I assume John replied?) are very good to deal with,
straightforward and no messing.
