Hello

I know some HD experts like Odie Ferrous frequent this group and wondered if
anyone could advise on the above sata Hd that is trowing up error in Vista
saying to back up data as it may fail. Running estool gives "O/D scatter
hits. [AJ26]. " SMART error. The disk is new BTW

Any advise appreciated

you still can.

If the drive is, as you say, new then you will be able to return it to the
supplier or manufacturer under warranty. Just tell them, as you told us,
that it gives a SMART error and they will accept the return.
