Have you thought about any of the pallet shippers?

We use Palletline in the UK for smallish but heavy parcels, we get a half or
quarter pallet and strap it to the pallet.

Can be a fair bit cheaper than regular carriers but you'll have to find one that
goes overseas.

Stephen Sanderson Transport are who we use, and they do deliver to Europe in
addition to the UK.
