Leaving aside the breach of Ebay terms and conditons, I liked
"Quite often people coment of the feel of the machine, telling me it's
running smoother and faster. Its all down to heat and clean really.
My little extras ;-) I am a very fair person and I believe I will
make you and your machine happy again."
I feel bound to confess that as an amateur I have never sought to
establish the state of mind of my machines.

Come on, guys! On the one hand, you say that this is a simple repair, and on
the other hand you complain that he isn't a fully qualified engineer. He
takes the laptops apart, does a simple repair, then hopefully puts them back
together again properly. The amount he charges seems realistic, and he
doesn't appear to be a scammer, so give him a break.
So, his English isn't too hot. The number of times I have seen dreadful
spelling and grammar on this NG...... (Urgently proofs this and dons
fireproof coat.)

May I just add "me too" on the issue of spelling and grammar. I quoted
from the Ebay add only because it seemed to me to support Sue's comments
on his (lack of) professionalism.

I must say that I couldn't find the self-recommend of the DVD. Is that on
his website? I thought this was pretty clear, though:

Fireproof coat not needed. :)
My take is that he claims to be a professional, yet he's not
professional enough to take care to proof-read his adverts, much less
run a spell-checker over them. Were I a potential customer, I'd be
wondering if his lack of professionalism in advertising his services
extended to the quality of his repairs.
Some of the claims he makes are dubious at best, but others have dealt
with those.
