Officials: Clinton aides threatened lawsuit over Texas caucuses

Author:
Date: Feb 29, 2008 05:35

They just don't learn, huh ? It didn't work for Al Gore in 2000,
either. These Dems just think they can turn to a judge for ANYTHING -
to make laws from the bench, to save them from losing elections ....

http://www.kansascity.com/449/story/510802.html

The Texas Democratic Party warned Thursday that election night
caucuses scheduled for next Tuesday could be delayed or disrupted
after aides to Hillary Clinton threatened to sue over the party's
complicated delegate selection process.

  voip question

Author: dsh
Date: Feb 28, 2008 14:05

I've recently dropped my verizon landlines and am using a voip provider,
over cable.
Some local calls don't ring thru, with message like:
"The number you are dialing is not available."
This has occurred with both Raleigh and Durham calls. I'm in Durham.
Voip folks say it's the problem of the originating carrier not adding the
area code as a prefix to the outbound call.
Some local calls make it not problem, some don't. Could this be a switch by
switch thing?
Is my voip provider useless?

Don't bother trying to call me.... I may not be available.

  Head Hunters in RTP Area?

Author: rtpjobhunter
Date: Feb 27, 2008 06:29

Are there any good head hunters in the RTP area that specialize in
finding IT jobs for applicants?

There are more contractor agencies than I can count out there

I am wondering who the top notch permanent placement folks are for IT.

Thanks!

Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming

Author:
Date: Feb 26, 2008 16:24

http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Monitors+Report+Worldwide+Global+Cooling/article10866...

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has
exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its
first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most
snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since
record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold
in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South
Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on.

No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence
has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global
temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have
released updated data. All show that over the past year, global
temperatures have dropped precipitously.

Meteorologist Anthony Watts compiled the results of all the sources.
The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value
large enough to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the
past 100 years. All in one year time. For all sources, it's the single
fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

Harry Truman probably missed a chance to head it off by not telling De
Gaulle's post-war French Government we wouldn't support his aim of
re-establishing French colonialism in Indo-China.

But we kind of got caught in a knee-jerk reaction to the French
Communist Party's coming in first place (28.8%%) during the November
1946 French General Elections (first election of the new Fourth Republic).

And then the Korean War broke out.
