Losing our religion?

Fewer people may now go to church every Sunday, but that doesn't mean
Britain is suffering from a crisis of faith, argues Alister McGrath

The decline in British church attendance continues. Parents who go to
church are less and less likely to pass on their faith to their
children. The "Decade of Evangelism" seems to have done little to
reverse this trend. As many congregations grow older, there is no sign
of young people queuing to fill the empty pews.

The figures hide significant variations. About 50 per cent of British
church congregations are slowly dwindling - but 15 per cent are
holding their own and 35 per cent are even growing. There are
important surges in attendance at Christmas services, especially at
cathedrals. Organised religion may be in decline, yet a concern for
spirituality remains important for many.

pedophiles -- do not commit suicide

If you have not used force, intimidation, deception, or drugs, then
you are innocent.

The pe do philia scare is a fake. It is not harmful. That is why they
refuse to allow anyone to discuss the issue openly. It would reveal
that there is much evidence that it is harmless and can be
beneficial.

check out these sources:

Anthropologist Gilbert Herdt on the culture of the Sambia people.

The Rind Report written by two Temple University psychology
professors.

"Harmful to Minors" by journalist Judith Levine

"Love Against Hate" by Karl Meninger, M.D.

It is even mentioned as common practice in the opera Don Giovanni by
Mozart.

The sex hysteria is being used as a pretext to distract the people
from the failings of the government and to make them fear the
government.

Have you noticed that NGO's and DA's claim to speak for children, but
they never allow the children to speak for themselves?

  Homosexuality: An 'Interview' with Jesus

Author:
Date: Dec 23, 2007 02:43

The following article has been posted to various Usenet newsgroups since
1995, and usually creates quite a stir!

It addresses one of the two or three most-argued-issues between
Christians and non-Christians on the Internet, and between Christians
themselves...

Some object to the idea of an imaginary interview with Jesus about
anything. But 'dialogues with Jesus' / sermons on 'What would Jesus
do/say?' are common homiletical devices often used by Christian
preachers and theologians. (For example Jacob Neusner's 'A Rabbi Talks
with Jesus' is a well-known imaginary dialogue between Jesus and a
sympathetic Jewish scholar).

Many (most?) conservative folks seem to have a visceral homophobic
tendency to shut their minds to any possibility of changing their
deeply-held prejudices and paradigms.

This is too brief, probably simplistic and somewhat tentative. Those of
you to my ideological right and left will want to modify some of this. I
invite your critical comments.

10 Truths, Rejecting Christianity and Becoming Free Forever

Author: Carl Sagan's billions
Date: Dec 22, 2007 18:52

I struggled for a long time, in my younger years, trying to
understand
the basic doctrines, the core beliefs, the philosophies, the essence
and contradictions in Old versus New Testament, the behavior of
warrior Christian nations wreaking havoc in non-Christian colonies
(and still conducting horrible wars on non-Christian people around
the globe), Genesis, Noah, the many other stories in the Bible, etc..

Then slowly I came to understand several truths described below,
which eventually enabled me to gradually throw off the yoke,
the shackles and the blinders of a long childhood indoctrination in
Christianity, and I WAS FREE ----- FOREVER:

1. All religions and gods are 'man' made. Made and made up
by humans, not necessarily to deceive but as a result of new
ideas and concepts that evolved and were then accepted as
the (new) truth, the (new) philosophy of life, the (new) gospel,
the (new) 'true' religion.

Now you understand why I am so excited about next Thursday.
We got so many requests from those who missed our last tele-
webinar with Professor Reuven Kimelman on "The Seduction of
Eve: Why Did She Do It?" that we decided to do it again so that
YOU can have YOUR OWN questions about this well known yet oft
little understood story in Chapter 3 of the Book of Genesis
answered.
