I thought the people that want to try and apply ACIM would have a few
rules or ideas on how they do it. If we share them maybe we can learn
from each other and learn faster.
My number one rule is to take complete responsibilty for myself. No
one and nothing of this world MAKES me feel or do anything. I choose
how I feel and if I don't like it, I can choose again to see things
differently.

For me a very important rule is that
what my brother loses I have lost,
and what he gains is what is given me.
(T-31.IV.8:5). How this is to be
*practiced* exactly is something to
reflect on, and to ask guidance for.
Imo it mainly is a mental attitude.
Just realizing that it is the truth.
And not so much about material things,
but rather peace, and love, and happiness.

I don't think one person can tell another anything about it.
I think the course says to ask for help/Guidance and trust what we get.
The only thing that seems like a "rule" is "The Peace of God is my One Goal"
but even that, is for my own benefit. All that I give is given to myself in
the long run.
This ng is good practice on a daily basis.

It also says that the practical application is doing the Workbook.
You don't get to the final lesson you've just described above until
the end of the Workbook.

My short term answer is three different things.
1. The golden rule. My favorite is one Maz posted not
long ago in a thread he started. From the Torah:
What is hateful to you do not do to another.
This is the whole Torah; all the rest is commentary.
2. As Ellie says, "vigilant self-examination".
3. And as Gene noted the other day, "Be as passersby".
The last is the most difficult of the three.
And number 2 above has a corollary:
Where your belief is anchored
there will you drown.

I heartily agree with this.
