The golden rule in simplest form is, 'treat others the same way you
would want to be treated by others'.

There are arguments against this golden rule. The depressed person
would want treatment to be killed by others and following golden rule
he is obliged to treat others same way i.e kill others.

I didn't know this golden rule until 27 Dec 2004. During discussion in
alt.atheism, I wrote my own code of conduct which is...

" My actions
must NOT cause directly or indirectly any psychological, physical,
financial damage to any living being. To define what is good and what
is evil, step in shoes of ALL other living beings. If you feel overall
pain, it is evil. If you feel overall happiness, it is good. Whenever
conflict arise, prefer minimum damage."

.
In reply to this one atheist wrote in his post 'golden rule' and after
searching by keyword, I learned the golden rule.

But I think my code of conduct is better than golden rule.
