I did not ask you if you enjoyed learning. I'll ask the question
again. Are you ever anywhere just because you enjoy being there?

it sounds to me like mike is asking you if you ever do something just for
the joy of doing it.

If you are burning someone alive, you are placating the ego's god of
sacrifice, and hence telling it that it is safe, because someone else has
suffered instead of you. Moreover, at a deeper level you know that by
embracing fear and hatred you've postponed the atonement. The fear of God
is therefore dealt with twice.

In case it isn't clear, I'm talking about the one doing the burning.

I thought I answered him. If I didn't enjoy doing something, why would I
do it?

And, I enjoy learning things. If I don't at least aim to learn from
experiences, what's the point?

That is Mike? The one who used to be Mike Ryer and maybe still is? If
so, we once had fun (enjoyment) posting our pictures and art. On a
discussion group you had and closed. Too many enjoyment going on?

it was a simple question, which you really didn't answer. you do that alot,
avoid answering direct questions, have you noticed that? when i first saw
mike's question i wondered if you would give him a direct answer, not
expecting that you would, so i wasn't disappointed.

what is it about a simple yes or no that scares you so much?

i have a theory :)

as i see things from my end, i am really the only one here. nobody is
reading for me, its just me. now, obviously i am responsible for the things
that i say when i write, but not so obviously i am also responsible for the
things that i read. thats the way that i am really the only one here,
everything written has to be read by me, otherwise none of it would exist
for me.

now, i have my own idea of each other person who posts here. no matter how
accurate my ideas of others may be, they are still my ideas and not the
others themselves. so every time i read a post, i dance this little dance
with my idea of the poster. it is really easy to forget the distinction
between my idea of reality, and reality itself, and even easier to confuse
the two.

Why does this Course in Miracles newsgroup usually end up being about me?

And I usually get blamed for doing this (LOL)

You're saying I should have (in order to be right, or not disappoint
you, or whatever) just said YES (or no) to the question? Instead of looking
for ways to make a discussion out of it? What was it, do I ever do anything
just for the enjoyment of doing it?

Yes
