I'm curious. Does anybody here have a specific theory for why this
newsgroup erupts into conflict so frequently? I'm not simply talking
about vague blame placed on the ego, as in, the ego made me do it. Is
there anything maybe about this newsgroup or the Course itself that
causes teh conflict?

The atonement makes the ego nervous. Why did people burn other people alive
in the name of Jesus Christ? To make sure they weren't saved yet.

What comes to mind for you?
Do you see a common denominator that
is somehow unique to this list or the Course?

The Light brings up everything unlike itself, to be seen, resolved, worked
through, and let go (at somet point)
Hopefully.
Sort of like group threrapy?
The course encourages this (realizing one's issues, and expressing them,
first seeing them in someone else, as projection, and then realizing where
they're REALLY coming from and making changes) and the newsgroup provides
the freedom and lack of someone else deciding what should/shouldn't be here,
to do it.
It might not look it, but it's really all good.

Conflict is a choice... :)
It isn't limited to a newsgroup..., but is global.
In my 3d world... there are many around me living in conflict...
be it in beliefs, relationships... or finance.
Interestingly, i have watched the conflicts arise in many around me ...
through time... and have seen the sequence of acts moving toward... and
bringing forth..
their own conflicts.... pain and suffering.
We each tend our gardens..., then reep the fruit... or lack thereof.... :)

That certainly is one way of looking at it.
