I've been kind of watching what's going on in this ng, and there's
something I don't understand about us. Other than Katie we are all
people who, whether currently working with/consciously applying ACIM
or not, have a deep and abiding respect for the course. Why do we
spend so much time tearing each other down exactly the same way Katie
tears all of us down? Why are we doing what she does to us TO EACH
OTHER? It takes a certain kind of person to have a deep and abiding
respect for ACIM, and that kind of person can't be bad. What's
blocking us from recognizing each other as people who would at least
LIKE to be aligned with the Voice for God, for all our failings? Why
are we not offering each other a little encouragement? Katie would
carry on doing as Katie does, but that's no excuse...

I've seen the expression "love bombs" used here.

And now Mike R. thinks ellen is talking down to him, condescending is
the word he used.
When to Ellen, and maybe others it seems like she is returning
kindness, and not arguing. And I'm not saying she isn't. Just that I
have had some on groups say loving words, or what they thought
were,and they didn't feel loving to me. When this happens, regardless
of any intent on either one's part, it isn't really loving. But, is it
a way of attack? (love bombs. Killing someone with kindess, trying too
hard to BE loving in words, or hugging, following people around trying
to "love" them, etc)

Years ago, I saw this on a discussion group. One person was trying
really hard (maybe because he was unhappy himself and wanted an excuse
to vent) to get someone else to fight with him. The someone else was
very much into ACIM and refused to fight. Instead of just ignoring the
first person, or leaving (for the time being) he kept responding with
what he felt was "love". EGOLESSNESS.

If you want peace in this newsgroup, lasting peace, you will have to
choose it, period. A real choice for peace cannot be made just because
your ego becomes temporarily bored with posting anger and hate
messages. Nor can you allow your ego to dictate that you will get
bored with peace and return to war. This extreme back-and-forth seesaw
between peace and war is what you've been doing for many, many years
in this newsgroup. It is why the newsgroup has the reputation it has
for being the newsgroup from hell. You make it hell.
