hey carrie
I read your post about 'giving back' and didn't have time to respond then
and then lost the thread ;( --- but I started doing something this past
year that I'm finding to be a lot of fun. I don't go to church so I don't
tithe in that way and usually give donations to different places that
inspire me. But I also got the idea to anonymously send money to people. I
take a percentage of each deposit as cash and mail it to someone. I like to
ask HS who I should send it to. Not large amounts, often $10 or $20 to one
or several people. It's fun to think of people receiving an unexpected gift
in the mail and their wondering who sent it -- most of the people I've done
that with probably wouldn't suspect me in a million years, even my own son!
lol! sheryl

I used to do that too (before I started feeling poor (LOL) I
remember one time taking a $5 bill (back in the 70's) and taping a
little bow on it, and mailing it to a local "help" center in our area,
asking them to please put it up on their bulletin board, in case
someone comes in who might need it at the time. I felt guided in this ...

The story I told about the person saying there are agencies to take
care of poor people was from maybe 30+ years ago. And I agree with you
(now) it's not just giving to poor people, it's who it feels right to
give to. And when. Not forced- flow. I've bought a car part for
someone in July and said "Merry Christmas" (thus it wasn't charity it
was an early gift) I don't have a lot of money at any one time, so a
few years ago i gave up "doing" Christmas- like trying to buy or make
something for everyone for that particular day, and have been doing
Christmas "all year round" instead.

Well, probably by the postmark (LOL) And you did send me a book and
tapes.

I think the idea (according to some) is to do it anyway. "act as if"
you can. I have a Neale Donald Walsh tape ABUNDANCE (him, not saying
it's God) where he says to "give a little more, even if it's
unconfortable" This creates a vacuum for more to flow in.
I don't know if I agree with this, doing something that is
uncomfortable (doesn't feel good- right) doesn't seem like Guidance, it
seems like coming from fear.
Abraham (Esther Hicks) says to get a $100 bill (yeah, right) and
carry it around with you and don't spend it but know it's there. Think
"I could buy that!" Get used to the feeling of prosperity, and
gradually work up to $1000 (and when you're aligned with well being, no
one will ever rob you).
Get used to having money. Money is really just paper, just part of
"things" in the material world. In a way it's worthless you can't eat
it, and you'd need a lot of it to burn to keep warm in the cold.

I have done that... more than once... and I had forgotten about it...
You ladies are inspiring me to re-open that gifting account... . Your
message is growing thoughts. :)
Right now I am knitting up excess and will give some of that to places
that spread it to ones people in need. labours of love .. . they cost
much more in time than money so I can spread around more that way.
$1.30 or less to knit a wash cloth... or $4.00 to knit a hat... makes
that little bit of money go a really long way... a warm head for a
person for more than one whole winter even.
We really can do so much...!

the mountain ones are my favourite... really nice. I like the art ones
as well... and the yellow tree.. Fall is astonishing in it's beauty.
With coloured leaves on the trees and buckets of them falling to the
ground... nothing like it... I love it. The feeling of fall is
extraordinary. You captured some of it in some photos.

I love Fall, too, even though it gets cold and the leaves die and fall
off, it's really the END of something, it always feels positive to me.
Like energizing. Maybe after hot summer, when I tend to feel draggy
(though we didn't have much heat this past summer or I spaced it out)
I never feel like I can capture what it's like in pictures, maybe
because of the over all feel the smell and feeling in the air, and the
sun sometimes shining through the leaves (and sometimes snow on them)
