I have it the other way around, John,
but you're forgiven.

Look up the definition of "lie,"
and quit your whining.

T-27.VIII. The "Hero" of the Dream

T-27.VIII.1. The body is the central figure in the dreaming of the
world. 2 There is no dream without it, nor does it exist without the
dream in which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and be
believed. 3 It takes the central place in every dream, which tells the
story of how it was made by other bodies, born into the world outside
the body, lives a little while and dies, to be united in the dust with
other bodies dying like itself. 4 In the brief time allotted it to
live, it seeks for other bodies as its friends and enemies. 5 Its
safety is its main concern. 6 Its comfort is its guiding rule. 7 It
tries to look for pleasure, and avoid the things that would be hurtful.
8 Above all, it tries to teach itself its pains and joys are different
and can be told apart.

I don't know, Sheryl... I keep going back to that earlier post I made about
the cycle of guilt, punishment, pain. At some level we feel guilty and
believe we must be punished, so we create pain. I think I used the example
of drinking too much alcohol and getting a headache. I think you reasoned
that drinking too much alcohol can cause dehydration, which could cause the
headache. I accepted this as reasonable without perusing it further, but
since then the questions has come up in my mind, "Well why then, did I allow
myself to get dehydrated through this particular process?" I must of felt
guilt and decided I needed to be punished for that guilt with pain. The
method or form which I used to achieve this is secondary. In other words,
I'm wondering, is there ever any really physical "cause"? Doesn't a mental
cause come before, causing the physical symptom? And what could the mental
cause be except to lose sight of the fact that we are whole and healthy. Now
I still have health issues from time to time (and even a chronic one that I
won't get into), and my youngest son has gone through two open-heart
surgeries, so I'm certainly not excluding myself in anything I say here, but
there is no other "cause" possible other than ourselves in ego-mode, is
there? I know it seems like a hard line of reasoning to take, but a God of
Love precludes it. I'm hypothesizing the subtleties of the ego are so fine
that we are, at times, not aware of this guilt/punishment/pain cycle; and ...

p.s. I guess I was ruminating on how existential guilt could lead to

jeanette: I once asked the owner of the "Teacher's of God" group what made
it
possible to be on the list. Well, overall, my best guess, since an
answer was never given, is to adorize the ownership, agree with the
philosophy, and then you get the badge.

-- sv: are you talking about David Fishman? I admit that as I've posted to
my email list about being able to find my lecture/discussion I too cringe at
the "teachers of God" label - lol. but I understand that that's course
terminology. I don't think there's any special club or badge
-- he simply
includes on that list anyone who has spoken at pal talk. Sheryl

I didn't read all of it but is that the raj post, I think I caught some of
that the other day. I don't know, I have mixed feelings, because I think
that "in time" people may have certain ailments or whatever that can in
fact be vehicles to bring them home to truth, but then I also feel that
there's deeper stuff going on than we can realize. For example, minor I
know, compared to depression but I've been having a major arthritis thing
with my right thumb this week which I think was brought on by the excess
(and unusual) humidity we've had lately. I'd love to talk about this some
because I've had arthritis only in my right hand and *only* in the fingers
that have been used and abused (by cracking and pressure points) after 21
years of being a chiropractor. In my fingers, at least 5 years ago i got
rid of it with glucosamine/chondrtin -- it took literally 2 months but it
has never come back even though I don't take it anymore, although I do
continue to take msm. This outbreak is extremely painful -- I don't know
how people deal if it's in *all* their fingers! Maybe it's here to teach me
more compassion and empathy! lol! but today I was thinking about the whole
"sickness isn't real" idea and yeah on a deep level I think it's totally
true -- but at the same time, I mean I have been a chiro for 20+ years, it
does also appear that some ailments appear to be directly related to certain
things. And then when it comes to depression I used to be the type of ...

Linda:I'm still thinking that the installation of pal talk has had more
effects on
my computer than I thought. I used to be able to pull newsgroup messages up
quickly, now it takes much time and sometimes can't pull them at all. I
don't have AOL but you might try asking support if pal talk might have added
something unwanted to your computer.

sv: well martha street told me that every time she went on pal talk it froze
her computer so now she can't go there, but she told me that she did go on
and listen to my lecture/discussion from Thursday which I guess is different
because you don't h ave to go through pal talk to do that. I hope it works
for you because it was GREAT to have you there. And btw, I meant to say
this the other day when Lee said something about my talk about being a
natural or something like that -- I think Sharon is too -- don't you? sheryl
