It is the case quite often. Maybe you should get to know more
Catholics.

I was a member of the rcc for many years before I left it in 1965 or
so. A few of those I knew would invite someone to church once in a
rare while, but most did nothing but go to confession, mass, pray
their rosaries, and send their kids to catholic schools.

So let's see you’re against repenting, partaking in communion with
Christ, expressing the love of God and the mother of Christ and
developing a community that children can grow faith and grace. OK

in fact, according to the Catechism of the RCC the person in the pew
is too stupid to interpret the Scriptures on his own... note this
excerpt from the RC catechism :
" The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been
entrusted SOLELY to the Magisterium of the Church, that is, to the
Pope and to the bishops in communion with him. "
And where do you think most Protestant teachings come from?

They come from Scripture, not from the rcc. The rcc didn't exist
until about 325 AD.

So you use all the scriptures Gnostic and Aprocyral. The canon of
scriptures was decided on by the early Catholic Church. Many scriptures
were used before the canon was published.
