DT: The Urna is the 31st of the 32 physical marks of the Buddha,
according to the Pali Canon, in the discourse titled "Sutra of the
Marks" (Lakkhana Sutta) in the Digha Nikaya.... Btw, the 32 physical
marks of the Buddha are really bizarre. Some folks take them literally
(as some take literally mental claims of the Buddha having psychic
powers and past lives), but I see them as part of the fascinating
texture of Indian mythology. Some other 'marks' of the Buddha are the
Usnisha or bun of hair on top of his head, flat feet with wheel marks
on the soles, webbed hands and feet with extra long fingers and toes
and long arms that reach down to his knees without bending, 40 teeth
(instead of 32) that are super-white, evenly spaced and have no gaps
between them, a super-long tongue, long earlobes...

I believe he also says in the Diamond Sutra that the Tathagata is not to
be known by the 32 marks, since they don't really exist, or something to
that effect.

The Diamond sutra essentially says that we ought not to confuse the map with
the territory. Viz: the 32 marks are not 32 marks, they are *called* the 32
marks. And so on.
IN other words, a computer is not a computer. It is called this in English.
But it is called by other names in other languages, and that doesn't make
it less of a computer. Only that, "computer" is only a name.

From some comentary I read on the Yoga Sutras
There is the table, the physical thing in front of you
There is what it is to be a table
There is the word table
There is the impression of table in our minds
I think the commentary had only 3 of these things, so wonder if 2 and 4
are the same or 1 and 2 are the same. Will have to dig out the sutras
again.
