Norwegian explorer flies Tibetan flag on North Pole
Mon Apr 14, 2008 5:50pm EDT

By Adam Tanner

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A Norwegian polar explorer said on Monday
that he had flown the Tibetan flag on the North Pole to highlight the
issue of human rights in the Chinese-ruled Himalayan region.

In a satellite telephone call, Inge Solheim said he had flown the flag
hoping to inspire governments dealing with China as well as ordinary
people to support Tibetan rights. A photo taken on Sunday and sent by
e-mail showed him standing on a block of snow holding the flag with
gloved hands against a cloudless sky.

"The symbolism is great because the Chinese have gone to great lengths
to get the Olympic flame to Mount Everest, to the top of the world
they say," he told Reuters. "But that's not the top of the world. The
North Pole is the top of the world and the Tibetan cause should be on
the top of our minds."

I found some great meditation info and audios

Author: kellyhobbo

I've been interested in meditation for quite some time now. I mean I
haven't been doing it much lately because my work is quite demanding.
But I'd like to get to a point where I can take a nice long break and
get deep into meditation.

When I first became interested I remember paying about $100 for an
ebook and audio set. To be fair it was good, but imagine my surprise
when I found out that much of this can be aquired free. Theres some
free audio on this one site which is pretty cool.

Basically when meditating the aim is to slow your brain impulses into
the alpha. Which as far as I know is latin for meditation brain
frequencies.

Anyway, technology has come so far to that they've got this sort of
music that when you listen to it, it automatically puts your brain
impulses into alpha.

Which basically means by listening to it while sitting still with your
eyes closed, its proven to put you into a deep meditative state.

Basically by passing years and years of painful practice! Pretty cool
huh.

"Starvation" in Tibet, says Dalai Lama.

Author: calderhome

I recently saw the Dalai Lama on television talking about "starvation"
in Tibet. Some of the problem is due to the Chinese occupation, but
much of the food shortage problem Tibet is facing can be attributed to
the global food crisis created by biofuel production, which literally
turns mountains of the world's human food supply into fuel for our
cars and trucks. Those of you who meditate might consider using some
of your gained inner energy to fight this global food crisis. See
"The biofuel hoax is causing a world food crisis!" at:
