the machine likedness of the action, like in sports if the mind
commands the body to run in a certain manner, our school like habits...

  Relationships

What if you could recapture your ex lovers mind, heart and
soul?...Wipe the slate clean? Turn back time? Even if you feel right
now that your situation is too far gone…too screwed up …or just plain
too darn complicated?

You already know how hard it is to just even wake up and roll out of
bed in the morning. You leave your radio off on your way to work
because every song is a painful reminder of him. You can't even bear
to eat at the same restaurants you took her to. And if that isn't bad
enough, you have to cope with the loss of friends and family that are
on "their side".

Did you know that most relationships can be salvaged? You may find it
difficult to believe that almost every break up for whatever reason…
infidelity, plain old lost passion, loss of interest, a stolen heart
and worse.

I have a blog that has more information on some of what I've been
writing about on relationships. If you feel like checking it out, you
can find it here: http://winningyouback.blogspot.com It's entitled
"The Magic of Making Up - 10 Tips to a Happy Relationship."

  A legal question

For Lee Dillion, or anyone else with legal cluefulness.

Is there a principle in trial law concerning diminished credibility whenever
a witness makes statements concerning themselves?

---Uncle Weasel

--

Luke Clossey:
I take comfort in the principle that anyone who is offended by speech
spoken without intent to offend deserves to be offended.

Daryl Kinsman:
Heh, that should be the golden rule of political incorrectness.

If somebody claims knowledge of that which is
prior to knowledge, or some such, and then
blows up all over on account of mere words on
the screen, such claims are worth diddly squat,
and such a person only drools in public.

  Incense meanings

I have read somewhere that when you light three incense sticks, the
rate at which they burn can mean different things.

For example:
- Good luck in 7 days
- Someone ill in 10 days
etc etc

Does anyone have a definitive list of how they translate in Buddhism?

India sending two relief ships to cyclone-hit Myanmar
2008-05-06 15:42:35

NEW DELHI, May 6 (Xinhua)--- With the death toll in the Myanmar
cyclone now standing at around 15,000, India has dispatched two naval
ships loaded with relief supplies to the cyclone-battered nation, with
more relief assistance to be sent by air, according to The Times of
India Tuesday.

Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar Friday night with winds of speed up to
190 kmph. It subsided after 10 hours Saturday morning, leaving behind
large-scale devastation in several areas of Yangon and the Irrawady
delta.

According to media reports, officials in Myanmar have put the
death toll at around 15,000.

Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Navtej
Sarna said Monday that President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee have
sent individual messages to the Myanmar government "expressing their
deep distress" at the devastation caused by the natural disaster.

India rushes aid to Myanmar

By Bappa Majumdar

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India rushed relief and medical supplies to
cyclone-hit Myanmar on Monday, underscoring warming ties between the
two neighbours.

Hundreds of labourers were loading food items, blankets, clothing and
tents into two naval ships at Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and
Nicobar Islands, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs
(MEA) said.

"The ships will sail as soon as possible and any time now," he said.

A Myanmar-based diplomat told Reuters the country's military junta
estimated at least 10,000 people died and 3,000 were missing after the
cyclone hit the Irrawaddy delta on Saturday.

The Indian foreign ministry said in a statement that, "in keeping with
India's historical, close and good neighbourly ties with the friendly
people of Myanmar, the government of India is providing immediate
relief assistance to Myanmar.
