Is he unknown or ignored?
Is he regarded as an authority in Buddhism?
... as competition or as a detractor from "true" Buddhism?
Thanks!

I have a slate of questions ...
Panchen and Dalai Lama -- what are their respective roles? Which one
is higher up in the hierarchy?
Is the Dalai Lama by definition the political head of state of Tibet?
Has this always been the case? Or is it just that Tenzin Gyatso has
adopted that role?
I have read that the Panchen is by definition the teacher of the Dalai
Lama -- does this mean, of the NEXT Dalai Lama (after Tensin Gyatso),
or how could a child teach an old man? (Notwithstanding the fact that
the Panchen is currently held by the Chinese and is therefore unable
to perform his role, of course).
Moreover:
* is the Dalai Lama accepted as political leader by all or most
Tibetans, even those who adhere to Bön or the three other Tibetan
branches of Buddhism? Or is he by definition just the leader...

It will never occur to you, I suppose, that you are stuck in a
particular view of TM?

Charles occasionally has been known to have a short fuse, but that doesn't
mean that he is necessarily always wrong. Just as paranoids may have real
enemies, (besides the imaginary ones) irritation with those who are stuck in
some particular view, may be an undercurrent that others feel as well, but
hide better.

I gave you my point of view and an example. The terms, logic, and room to
play are sound enough. If someone persists in wanking me around or leading
me up the garden path, I'm not interested. It would be the same if you were
my local politician or Kater Moggins. Flip me off and you get nothing.
