THE ULTIMATE PARADOX

During the ministry of Shoghi Effendi all Baha'is knew that one of the
essential conditions that had been prescribed by Shoghi Effendi for being
accepted as an enrolled believer was faithful adherence to every clause of
the Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Baha--" the Center of the Covenant"-- and
believed that fidelity on the part of the believer to the Covenant of
Baha'u'llah required nothing less than faithful, complete and steadfast
adherence to every clause of this "Charter of the New World Order."

Exactly 161 (Bayani) years ago, the Primal Point nominated the 20th
March 1850 as a festive day and considered it as the most important
day of the Bayani Calendar and called it the ‘Day of God’. This day
was the first day of the Bayani calendar. In the Book of Panj-Shan, it
says:

الحقیقة و جعل الله اعظم ایّامه و هو یوم التوحید لله تعالی قد قرأت فیه
اننی انا الله لا اله الا انا الارفع الارفع فلتقرؤن. قد جعل الله من
ذلک الیوم تسعة عشد شهراً و کل شهر تسعة عشر یوماً و بداء الحساب من ذلک
الیوم لانه اول سنة لایبدل الا بامر من یظهره الله ارتفع و امتنع قدره. »

"Today is the first day of the month of Baha of the year one. This
days is named the ‘Day of God’ the Most Beloved, the Most Glorious as
this is the day on the eve of which, God appeared the Throne of the
Truth and has set this Day to be the greatest of all days. It is the
day of worshiping God. Verily, on this day I recited :
