Consumed by the irrelevant

How can we possibly make a good choice for President when we insist on
being consumed by the irrelevant?

What matters is whether we're going to leave our Iraqi Occupation
Force in place for years to prevent the collapse of Iraq, or whether
we're going to withdraw it (if we can as retreats under fire are
dangerous).

What matters is whether we're going to expand the US economy by free
immigration (a proven source of economic vitality) or keep an
increasingly feeble "America for the Americans".

What matters is whether we're going to realize that political
independence is a good thing, and economic independence (The Energy
Independence Act) is a bad thing. The effects of the Smoot Hawley
Tariff Act are quite clear.

But instead, the campaign has been defined by claims of moral
superiority, conspiracy, and belief in the supernatural by religious
nuts named Wright, Huckabee, and bin Laden. How easily distracted we
are.
