John Hagee's McCain Endorsement Sparks Uproar

ABC reports:
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/02/hagee-endorseme.html

Calling Pastor John Hagee a "bigot," the conservative Catholic League
is calling for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to denounce/renounce/reject
his endorsement Wednesday.

With a Youtube link to prove his point, Catholic League president Bill
Donohue said Hagee "has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic
Church.

For example, he likes calling it 'The Great Whore,' an 'apostate
church,' the 'anti-Christ,' and a 'false cult system.' ..."Senator
Obama has repudiated the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan, another
bigot.

McCain should follow suit and retract his embrace of Hagee." ...

McCain spox Jill Hazelbaker says, "Hagee endorsed John McCain. While
we welcome his support, it shouldn't be seen as a wholesale
endorsement of all of Mr. Hagee's views."

Depends on the country as well, as in the Toronto area it is 65 but as
we travel in the U.S. a lot of senior things seem to kick in at 55, 60
or 62, including such things as the Golden Age Pass, which has a new
name but is the same deal, from the government in the U.S. Stores all
seem to be all over the place on this in the U.S. but in Canada 65 is
fairly consistent, and one cannot be force to retire at 65 any longer
as well... so I suspect that the age will go up to 67 soon

looking to chat about sexuality, etc.

  anyone tried Evercare?

Author: Heathcliff
Date: Feb 29, 2008 13:35

I am wondering if Evercare is a good idea for my mother. She is in a
nursing home in dementia care so the decision is up to me. I have
talked with someone from Evercare and they have sent me some
materials.

As I understand it, Evercare is a subsidiary of United Healthcare and
if you sign up with them, they essentially become your Medicare
provider. Your doctor bills, hospital bills, etc. go to them instead...

Doctors `Repeatedly or Deliberately' Break FDA Drug-Trial Rules

Author: Harry Hope
Date: Feb 29, 2008 05:30

It's unclear how many of the researchers under scrutiny from the FDA
go on to do more clinical trials.

The agency has no public listing of all researchers participating in
drug and device studies.

Pending disciplinary cases include Maria Carmen Palazzo, a New Orleans
psychiatrist accused by the FDA in 2003 of diagnosing patients with
conditions they didn't have, qualifying them for a drug trial.

She challenged the allegations ``point by point,'' she said in an
interview.

Louis F. Fabre, a Houston doctor, ran a drug trial in which patient
Garry Polsgrove died.

Fabre or his assistants kept giving a test drug to a patient until the
day before his death, ``despite multiple signs and symptoms
consistent'' with heart injury and drug toxicity, according to an FDA
letter to Fabre.

Bloomberg News reported on Fabre in 2005, the year the FDA started the
process of barring him.

Today, Fabre, who declined to comment, is chairman of Fabre-Kramer
Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Houston drug development company.

You fruitcakes come up with this silly bullshit every election. Google on
Bill Clinton not leaving and you'll probably find all kinds of claims about
him as well.

Idiots like you are not allowed on my computer.

Twists in Chain of Supplies for Blood Drug
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/28/world/asia/28drug.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

RUGAO, China — With reports of more than 400 patients in the United
States suffering serious complications after receiving the blood-thinner
heparin, American investigators are trying to determine whether the raw
material for the drug, made from pig intestines, became contaminated on
the journey that begins in the slaughterhouses of China.

The investigators are examining the records of a factory an hour from
here that supplies much of the active ingredient in heparin for Baxter
International, which earlier this month halted sales of multidose vials
of heparin after reports of injuries and four deaths.

The owner of the factory, which is known as Changzhou SPL, says its
supply chain is safe. It buys raw material from only two reputable
wholesalers, it says, and audits their 10 to 12 suppliers.

“We have a collection chain in place, and we stick with that,” said
David Strunce, the president of Scientific Protein Laboratories, an
American company that owns a majority of Changzhou SPL. He declined
repeated requests from The New York Times to identify those smaller
suppliers, saying it was proprietary information.

Oil hits new record high of $103.05 a barrel

Oil Tops $103 a Barrel Before Retreating

By PABLO GORONDI | Associated Press Writer

Oil prices briefly surpassed $103 a barrel for the first time Friday
as persistent weakness in the U.S. dollar and the prospect of lower
interest rates attracted fresh money to the oil market.

Light, sweet crude for April delivery on the New York Mercantile
Exchange jumped to a new trading record of $103.05 a barrel in
electronic trading before slipping back to $102.07 a barrel, down 52
cents, by midday in Europe.

On Thursday, the contract jumped $2.95 to a record settlement price of
$102.59 a barrel.
