The Secretary of State Yells At a Cashier
Post reporter Glenn Kessler has a book about Condi coming out, and it
looks insane and great, if the stories in today's Rush & Molloy are to
be believed. Highlights include the story of a friend bouncing
quarters off her ass at a party and the charming tale of Condi proving
just why she is the most powerful person in Washington, according to
GQ, even though she can't accomplish a damn thing at State and no one
takes her calls anymore. No, she's still powerful because she knows
the fine art of putting service employees in their rightful places.
Coit Blacker, a Stanford professor who is one of the secretary of
state's closest friends, recalls going into a shop where Rice asked to
see earrings. The clerk showed her costume jewelry. Rice asked to see
something nicer, prompting the clerk to whisper some sass under her
breath.
Blacker remembers Rice tearing the woman to shreds.

There's no excuse for an employee to mutter insults to a customer, assuming
nothing else was left out of this story. Rice ripped her a good one... you have
to admire that in a woman.
