FYI: The plan originating with our current Grand Line is to sell our
Masonic Home in Sullivan, now called Mason's Point, by the end of the
year. So, if the sale goes through then Illinois will be out of the
asylum business for the aged and indigent.
Here is a recent article briefly describing the plan:

The Managers of the Illinois Masonic Home in Sullivan have been
implementing a plan to move us away from the asylum system to care for
our infirm members. The first step to the design is to initiate an
Outreach Program to care for members who in the past would be moved
toward our asylum home and instead service them in their own homes
principally by referring their requests for assistance to other
agencies. As other jurisdictions looked to the Illinois asylum
strategy as a model in the past, how many now have similar Outreach
Programs in place or are considering a similar change?
The mission of our Illinois Program is stated as such:

Hi all,
I recently moved south to Bangalore and I am working for a large
software integrator. My project team is working on a project that
applies TOGAF to SOA. Are you able to point me to online and offline
resources/trainings that can help our team get up to speed with SOA
features and building blocks, the TOGAF architecture development
method, and how to use TOGAF to create SOAs. I am also in charge of
implementing virtualisation and/or SaaS in our company.
All the help that group members can provide in this regard is much
appreciated.
Thanks,
reshma

In our District we started a tradition in 2000 called the Visitation Gavel.
Its a HUGE, Conan the Barbarian sized gavel that any lodge in the district
can obtain by simply showing up at the Lodge that currently holds it, on
the day/night of their stated meeting. Its a good way to get to know other
Masons in your district.
We share a building with another lodge. The Gavel started with them in 2000
and for whatever reason, my home blue lodge has never mustered up the gusto
to go and get it. Out Worshipful put the challenge down and we accepted
this week.
On Tuesday we showed up at the Mike H Thomas lodge in south Dallas and
picked up the Gavel. We had quite a showing! 14 of us traveled down to get
it, we had more brethern show up then they had at their stated meeting!
They were also receiving thier DDGM which was a first for me being newly
raised. We called ahead so the steward knew to have plenty of food. Good
food, and good times had by all.
Does anyone else have anything like this in their district?

Question:
Does any regular Masonic system not use the Hiramic Legend as the basis
for the Master's Degree?

How does your jurisdiction view rejected petitions? Is the
jurisdiction of the lodge personal or territorial? Should a rejected
petitioner leave the US State or Canadian Province where he first
requests membership, does your Grand Lodge continue to consider the
man their material? How are these candidates deemed in the British
Isles and the law, if any, applied?
As a Master Mason, what are your views towards perpetual
jurisdiction? Does the concept serve a useful modern purpose or is the
theory vindictive and outmoded?
