One of those questions of Grand Master authority was recently
brought to my attention, not from any recent action here in my
jurisdiction, but elsewhere. Can a Grand Master bar a particular
sojourner from a recognized Grand lodge from visiting lodges in his
state?
The right of individual members to choose with whom they allow into
the intimacies of their local lodges, at least in my jurisdiction
regards visitors, is indisputable. Indeed, I would assume the right to
object to the presence of a visitor not a member of one

wowowo $4.00 a gallon -- or even $5.00 a gallon -- can you ship some ---

We in the UK are paying $10.75 a gall at the moment and going up daily...
will be $11.50 by the end of the month.

We do not claim mileage for visiting lodges on our duties.

Llast month I visited 14 lodges -- However I was fed free - at the festive
board.

This is similar in Oregon except that there is no per diem paid.

  West Virginia Update

On May 30th, PGM Haas filed a civil suit against GM Montgomery in
Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. Having had to do the same
myself in 2003 to gain reinstatement, my thoughts and prayers are with
PGM Haas as he fights his good fight,
The old charges contain direction for these cases that should be
read by every Master Mason from time to time. Dr. Anderson's
intructions state, "And if any of them do you injury, you must apply
to your own or his lodge; and from thence you may appeal to the Grand
Lodge at quarterly communication, and from thence to the annual Grand
Lodge, as has been the ancient laudable conduct of our forefathers in
every nation ; never taking a legal course but listening to the honest
and friendly advice of Master and Fellows, when they would prevent you
going to law with strangers, or would excite you to put a speedy
period to all lawsuits, that you may find the affair of Masonry with
the more alacrity and success; but with respect to brothers or Fellows
at law, the Master and Brethren should kindly offer their mediation,
which ought to be thankfully submitted to by the contending brethren;
and if that submission is impracticle, they must however carry on
their process, or law-suit, without wrath and rancor (not in the
common way) saying or doing nothing which may hinder brotherly love, ...

Hi, David. I married into the Wintermute clan, most of whom are descended from a German father and three sons who came to northern New Jersey in the 1700s. I'm not aware of any "Richard Wintermutes" directly related to my husband. But if you examine the W. family trees carefully, most in Canada and the USA are related....

Janet -
I attended the recent Annual Conference of United Methodists in Houston
and noticed that one of the new ministers being ordained is named
Richard Wintermute. I thought it unusual, since you are the only person
I have ever known with that surname. I'm just curious, but is he any kin?
