  Talking Peace but Training Terrorists

Author: Erickassonfire
Date: Dec 26, 2008 06:37

The world is in unison that the scrooge of terror must end. Whether
these attacks are aimed at innocent people, VIPs, world leaders or
economic infrastructure becomes immaterial and we must unite to
condemn these attacks. The more we wonder how the menace of terror has
become invisible we need to factually take into account the sources
and links that have directly or indirectly pumped life into these
monsters and their terror cells and establishments. The answers to
these will provide the reasons why terror still remains over and above
the calls for the elimination of terrorism from the world.

How do these terrorists operate – from where do they get the money to
buy weapons and ammunition – how do they escape international and
local detection - how are they able to transport these items to
various destinations – who trains these men and women and even
children and where are these training bases – why are they not
revealed to the international public? Do they have links to a
country’s intelligence services, which are the countries that profit
from the arms trade and how much of these are provided to terrorists
and why?

These are some of the questions that will answer why terrorism still
exists. Of the oft quoted examples we are aware that money is raised
from extortion, drug trafficking, foreign supporters, money
laundering...

  Boosting terrorism to defend 'democracy'

Author: Erickassonfire
Date: Dec 25, 2008 20:15

What should be the primary objective of an agreement between the radio
broadcasting services of two countries on the matter of news and other
programs? Undoubtedly it is to introduce the culture, language,
religion, politics and other relevant subjects of one country to the
listeners of the other. In fact this was the basis on which the BBC
Sinhala Service, Sandeshaya, was launched in the post-World War II
years.

In that pre-Internet era people of my generation, who were then school
children, eagerly listened to Sandeshaya to learn about people and
events in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. BBC was then
still basking in the glory of having strengthened the spirit of
freedom and democracy through its broadcasts to Nazi and Fascist-
occupied Europe during the world war. In that era listeners would not
have imagined even in their wildest dreams that decades later the very
same BBC would help to promote the agendas of a banned Fascist
terrorist outfit (the LTTE) in UK's democratic society.

In the words of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation Chairman Hudson
Samarasinghe:

Why The BBC Is A Greater Enigma To Sri Lanka's War Against Terrorism Than Prabhakaran And The LTTE.

Author: Ronnie
Date: Dec 25, 2008 20:05

A news story posted in the Asian Tribune website refering to BBC bias
towards LTTE - states that "yesterday the BBC's bosses - persuaded by
LTTE proxies – have taken upon themselves the burden of imposing their
version of democracy and freedom of expression on Sri Lanka by making
us listen to whom the majority here treat as vermin. The news report
states that all went topsy-turvy when LTTE sympathizers hijacked
Sandeshaya and the BBC Tamil Services with the outbreak of the Tiger
insurgency. The report states that the whole job of the BBC Sinhala
and Tamil Service clowns today is not to educate and entertain the non-
English speaking audiences about Europe but to recycle Sri Lanka's
political garbage and send them back to us. SLBC Chairman Hudson
Samarasinghe points out that the BBC's obvious partiality to the LTTE
has been further reflected in its Tamil Service broadcasting the
deplorable anti-Sri Lankan comments that Tiger proxy Tamil National
Alliance MP Sivajilingam had made in India. He further observed that
the LTTE is a banned terrorist organization in UK and BBC is that
country's national broadcaster. Yet it airs a despotic mass murderer's
speech commemorating his organization's suicide bombers." So is this
not cause enough to confront the BBC and make them rescind their
attitude towards the realities of what is taking place in Sri Lanka as ...

BBC- Promoting terrorism in Sri Lanka!

Author: sinna
Date: Dec 24, 2008 19:34

Prompted by renewed focus the recent discourse in your tribune
generated on above, I was able to trace excerpts of an interview
Priyath Liyanage, the Head of the BBC Sinhala (anti) service had with
the ‘Divaina’ newspaper in April 2000. In a discussion with Nayanaka
Ranvella published on the April 9th issue of the news paper, Liyanage
maintains that BBC has no particular agenda as claimed by certain
parties who are fond of ‘conspirator’ theories. “The fact that we
broadcast in Sinhala does not mean that we should take the side of the
Sinhalese. BBC is like an empty box (Pakis pettiya) where anybody can
get on and say their piece”.

Then he goes on to say that," Every organization has their own point
of view. The Tamils have their view; the LTTE organization has its
view; the Sinhalese have their view; even extremist rightist
organizations like the ‘Anti terror movement’ and the ‘Sinhala Veera
Vidhahana’ also have their own views; and we have to accommodate all
those without the need to either adopt or exclude any one or the
other.”

  SLBC Chief blasts BBC buffoons

Author: Erickassonfire
Date: Dec 24, 2008 19:08

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe on Saturday (Nov.
29) blasted those who demanded to know why the SLBC had blocked out
LTTE boss V. Prabhakaran's so-called Heroes Day speech. Speaking over
the Isira radio channel Samarasinghe asked whether those raising this
matter expected in the name of media freedom a state-run radio station
(maintained with public funds) to broadcast the "voice of a
bloodthirsty animal" trying to bisect the country.Hudson Samarasinghe:
"Is this the kind of statement that a person born in this country will
make unless he is out of his mind?"
Strangely, the issue whether the Tiger radio permits broadcasting
President Rajapaksa's full speeches, does not seem to have not
occurred to these critics, before questioning the SLBC Chairman.

He noted that while the entire world's attention during the past
couple of days was focused on the terrorist attack on Mumbai where the
terrorists also targeted Westerners, the BBC's Bush House buffoons
were busy giving oxygen to Prabhakaran by denigrating Sri Lanka's
armed forces and repeating a hackneyed old story of white vans
abducting people. Samarasinghe said that it was no secret that some
BBC staffers were on the LTTE's payroll.

Drôle de « genre » Haro sur Benoît XVI

Author: meigret
Date: Dec 24, 2008 08:15

We see that it is free and legal to kill a child, but you go to jail
if you say abortion is murder!

We will not compromise truth and we will keep on going to jail until
we win.

Norwegian Government Funding for LTTE Film - My Daughter the Terrorist

Author: Ronnie
Date: Sep 20, 2008 18:44

The 50 minute documentary Min Datter Terroristen (my Daughter the
Terrorist) attempts to glorify the motivations of two Black Tiger
women. The documentary follows the training and indoctrination of
Dharsika and Puhalchudar (possibly not the real names) for a suicide
mission against the Sri Lankan state. The main emphasis of the
documentary is to give some pseudo-justification to the act of suicide
terrorism by the LTTE. Sections of the documentary are narrated by
Maria (actor playing the role of Mother).

The documentary has been produced/co-directed by two Norwegian
nationals Mr.Morten Daae and Ms. Beate Arnestad. Interestingly, Ms
Arnestad states that she used a false name Ms Smith when she traveled
to Sri Lanka to make the film. Ms. Arnestad has blatantly breached Sri
Lankan immigration regulations and also media guidelines for visiting
journalists as prescribed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The
camera crew was led by Norwegian Frank Alvegg. The Production Company
is Snitt Film Production based in Oslo , Norway .

Integrity of Australian Council for International Development (linked to TRO) questioned

Author: Erickassonfire
Date: Sep 20, 2008 18:07

Sri Lanka is never short of foreign advisors on how to run the
country. The latest is Mr. Paul O'Callaghan, Executive Director of the
Australian Council for International Development (ACFID),

With all the pieties of a hired do-gooder, he fronted up at the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) last week and expressed
“fears of a blood bath” if the UN agencies and other NGOs withdraw
from...
