Posted Friday at Electric Politics, an interview with Dr. Dennis
Meadows, co-author of the classic work Limits To Growth, now in its
third edition (2004, Chelsea Green). One can't argue much with his
heuristic conclusion that unrestricted, exponential growth results in
sudden collapse: If we won't make the hard choices to control growth
(e.g., population, industrialization), nature will. How much time
we've got to figure this out and do something about it is the
question...
Please note that this is the first of a two part series on the
environment and issues of sustainability. Next week Electric Politics
talks with Terry Tamminen, formerly the Secretary of California's
Environmental Protection Agency and a top adviser to Gov.
Schwarzenegger. Which moves from theory to practice, on a more
optimistic note.

Thanks for listening!
