San Juan, Apr 9, 2008 (EFE via COMTEX) -- -- The Puerto Rican Health
Department announced Wednesday that it estimates that as many as 18,000
sexual assaults occur every year on this island of some 4 million people.

Health Secretary Rosa Perez Perdomo said that each year the police receive
some 3,000 complaints related to sexual violence, but it is thought that the
overwhelming majority of such crimes go unreported.

Santo Domingo.- The Rapid Action Task Forces and the Marine Police
yesterday intercepted a boat with seven sacks of 177 kilos of cocaine and
one of heroin, with an estimated street value of more than US$10 million.
