And the Iranians, who are behind this, sit back and grin
with satisfaction.

But not for long... every dog comes its day.

Israel's Olmert admits taking cash but won't quit

Israel's Olmert admits taking cash but won't quit

By Alastair Macdonald

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert admitted on
Thursday taking cash from a U.S. businessman but resisted calls to resign
over a police investigation into alleged hefty bribes over almost a decade.

As Israelis enjoyed festivities marking Independence Day and the 60th
anniversary of the founding of their state, police lifted a week-old media
gag order and announced details of accusations that sparked opposition calls
for Olmert to quit.

He said he would resign only if he were formally indicted.

Whether he goes or not, doubt over his future is likely to upset his
faltering, U.S.-sponsored peace negotiations with the Palestinians and will
cast a heavy cloud over next week's celebratory visit to Israel by U.S.
President George W. Bush.

The White House said Bush still intended to make the trip.

Olmert, in a late-night televised address to the nation, said: "I look each
and every one of you in the eye and say, 'I never took bribes. I never took
a penny for myself'."

Olympics drama proves rise of China & fall of zionist-led West

Bangalore: The serious trouble the Olympic torch faced proves - if proof is
needed - how much the rapidly rising Asian super power China is hated by the
zionist-controlled West. But China has coolly faced all the CIA-engineered
Tibetan terrorist violence converting the phoney problem into a vast
opportunity.

What is happening today is part of the "clash of civilisations" as per the
zionist agenda. But the forces of history are favourable to Asia led by
China with the gradual fall of the arrogant West.

The collapse of dollar and US economy shows the beginning of this fall.

Multilateral Like Bush
by Ilan Goldenberg and Max Bergmann
Why you should be deeply, deeply suspicious when John McCain talks
about the importance of alliance-building.

Post Date Wednesday, May 07, 2008

n March 26th, John McCain gave a much-hyped foreign policy speech at
the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles. It was his way of signaling
both his commitment to restoring America's alliances and his desire to
separate himself from the diplomatic blunders of the Bush
administration. And it went over like gangbusters. David Broder, dean
of the Washington pundit class, gushingly proclaimed the speech was
"an implicit rebuke to the mind-set of the current White House" and
went so far as to equate it with Barack Obama's speech on race.

"We need to listen to the views and respect the collective will of our
democratic allies," McCain said, in an echo of George Bush's 2000
campaign promise to play nice with our friends. "If we're an arrogant
nation," Bush said at the time, "they'll resent us; if we're a humble
nation, but strong, they'll welcome us." And we all know how that
turned out.

Arabs fight each other in Lebanon........again.

Another example of 'Arab Unity'.

Five killed in Beirut gun battles
At least five people have been killed in fierce fighting between supporters
of Lebanon's government and the opposition in Beirut, officials say.

Television showed gunmen firing rifles and rocket-propelled grenades in
central and southern areas of the city.

The fighting began after the leader of Hezbollah described the government's
move to close its telecommunications network as a "declaration of war".

Hassan Nasrallah vowed to "cut off the hand" that attempted to dismantle it.

Earlier, the Lebanese army command warned its unity was at risk if the
ongoing political crisis and civil unrest in Beirut continued.

In recent years, it has been seen as one of Lebanon's most neutral
institutions, but correspondents say clashes between rival factions could
draw it into the conflict.

'Siege'

For most of Thursday there was a tense stand-off in the sensitive areas of
central and south Beirut, where Sunni and Shia communities overlap and where
gun battles had broken out the previous day.
