19/01/90: When Kashmiri Pandits fled Islamic terror
January 19, 2005
Srinagar, January 4, 1990. Aftab, a local Urdu newspaper, publishes a
press
release issued by Hizb-ul Mujahideen, set up by the Jamaat-e-Islami in
1989
to wage jihad for Jammu and Kashmir's secession from India and
accession to
Pakistan, asking all Hindus to pack up and leave. Another local paper,
Al Safa,
repeats this expulsion order.

The coup that dare not speak its name - The army, not the
politicians, now runs Bangladesh
WHEN Iajuddin Ahmed, Bangladesh's president, declared an army-backed
state of emergency on January 11th and cancelled the election due on
January 22nd, neither he nor the foreign governments quietly cheering
him on used the word "coup". Yet that is what it looks like. The
army, in the tradition of "guardian coups" from Fiji to Thailand,
has stepped in with the usual list of apparently noble goals. The
interim government it is backing will enable credible elections, clean
up the country's extremely politicised civil service, fight corruption,
fix the country's power crisis and keep food prices in check-and then
return to the barracks.

PRESS RELEASE
Monday 15 January 2007
UK PRIME MINISTER 'ELECT', GORDON BROWN URGED TO TAKE UP CASE OF
PARAMJEET SINGH & TWO OTHER SIKHS IN VISIT TO INDIA
The Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, who is widely expected to
take over as Prime Minister after Tony Blair steps down later this year
has been approached on the eve of his three day visit to India to do
all he can to secure the release of Paramjeet Singh, Amolak Singh and
Jasvinder Singh held in Nabha maximum security jail.
In the last seven days Sikhs from constituencies throughout the UK have
been sending postcards regarding stopping the torture and false arrests
of Sikhs by Punjab Police and the immediate release of the three Sikhs.
Within the first seven days it was estimated that around 120 MPs had
been sent postcards. The latest estimate is that this has increased to
over 200 MPs following specific targeting this weekend. The number is

LHRI contests Punjab Police claim on terrorists' arrest
Express News Service
Chandigarh, January 17: The Lawyers for Human Rights International
(LHRI) today demanded a CBI enquiry in what they reckon is a case of
Punjab Police's high handedness and cruelty. Terming the allegations
of terrorist levelled against three Punjab-based residents as baseless
and fake, the LHRI maintained that they had themselves investigated
into the matter and found that the three arrested by the Punjab Police
including a British National Paramjit Singh Dhadhi were innocent.
The body further stated at a press conference held here that they had
examined more than 20 witnesses and had reached the conclusion that the
Punjab Police had concocted a story and booked them under a fake case.
The case relates to three persons, Paramjit Singh Dhadhi, Amolak Singh
and Jaswinder Singh. All the three are from different villages in
Punjab. On December 23 last year the three were on their way to Ropar
when they were stopped by the Ropar police and were taken to police
station and allegedly illegally detained there for more than three
hours. Then they were handed over to Jalandhar police and were accused
of possessing ammunition.

Did you notice they celebrate Christ's birthday & Guru
Nanak's birthday,
Muhammad's birthday, Buddha's birthday & Gandhi's
birthday? But they
do not want to celebrate Lord Krishna's birthday,
Janmashtami. So forget
about Holi, Ram Navami or Shivratri. And you notice
that out of 17 holidays
observed, only two are Hindu Holidays,i.e. Dewali &
Dushehra. And Hindus
make more than 80%% of India's population? Obviously,
India's Hindu majority
is treated worse than its minorities now. We should
really thank UPA for this!!

Campaign to free Sikh activist
The family of a British man held in prison accused of planning to cause
unrest and and possessing explosives are campaigning for his freedom.
Paramjeet Singh, 54, from Wednesfield in the West Midlands, has been in
prison in Punjab since he was arrested on December 23.
The Indian authorities say they found explosives and firearms on land
belonging to Mr Singh, a folk singer.
The Foreign Office are aware of claims that he has been ill-treated.
A spokeswoman said a representative from the British High Commission
had visited Mr Singh in prison and was in regular contact with his
family.
The case of Mr Singh, who has four children and four grandchildren, is
backed by his local MP, Ken Purchase, and by fellow Wolverhampton MP
Rob Marris, chairman of the all-party Parliamentary group for UK Sikhs.
Mr Purchase's office said they hope Chancellor Gordon Brown will raise
Mr Singh's plight during his three-day visit to India, which begins on
January 17.

HINDU TEMPLES WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM
http://www.voiceofdharma.org/books/htemples1/ch2.htm
Chapter Two
The Tip of An Iceberg
Sita Ram Goel
The mention made by Maulana Abdul Hai (Indian Express, February 5) of
Hindu temples turned into mosques, is only the tip of an iceberg, The
iceberg itself lies submerged in the writings of medieval Muslim
historians, accounts of foreign travellers and the reports of the
Archaeological Survey of India. A hue and cry has been raised in the
name of secularism and national integration whenever the iceberg has
chanced to surface, inspite of hectic efforts to keep it suppressed.
Marxist politicians masquerading as historians have been the major
contributors to this conspiracy of silence.

7. Why did Aurangzeb demolish the Kashi Vishvanath temple?
Moghul emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir (r.1658-1707) is an icon of Islamic
iconoclasm in India. His name counts as synonymous with destruction of
Hindu temples, though he also levelled many Hindu human beings. Yet,
the dominant school of historians would like to salvage Aurangzeb's
reputation.
Percival Spear, co-author (with Romila Thapar) of the prestigious
Penguin History of India, writes: "Aurangzeb's supposed intolerance
is little more than a hostile legend based on isolated acts such as the
erection of a mosque on a temple site in Benares."1 This claim,
warhorse of the "secularist" school of history-rewriting, provides
us with an excellent case study in the ongoing historians' conflict
in India.
What are the facts? The official court chronicle, Maasir-i-Alamgiri,
fills many pages with items like this "His majesty proceeded to
Chitor on the 1st of Safar. Temples to the number of sixty-three were...
