Mainland Chinese Immigrants Face Tough New Life in Hong Kong?

Hmmm, just a question:

"Home is now a 3.7 square meter cubicle, smaller than the average
Mercedes Benz. Their former house in Southern China was 25 times
bigger."

Now why would someone spend all that effort to emigrate to Hong Kong?
That must mean that opportunities offered by China are non-existent for
some (for many?)! See, immigrants whether legal or illegal to the US
may lead subpar lifestyles compared to the overall/native population,
but they tend to lead a lifestyle that's favorably compared to where
they came from!! Thus they may live in Chinatown ghetto, very poor by
US standards, but it's still more spacious than that tiny little
Mexican hut or Brazilian favela that they came from!! So how is it
possible that someone would shrink their living space by 96%% in this
case, yet still volunteer to move to HK, obligingly accept it as if
that's the best thing since sliced bread? Can there are some other
rewards....??

it's really sound that you knows nothing about HK.
Under the soc. welfare dept, they can get more than USD1,000 plus rental
paid by the HK Gov, they go to the public hospital for their treatment
without
paying one dollar.
Besides, how much is a construction worker earns a month?
a disk-washing earns around USD600 a month here in HK.
Where is your information come from?
oh, yes, MCN International Pte Ltd, definitely, he is describing
now-a-dates Singapore instead of HK.

Are you seroius? They can get USD$1000 a month? Is this only for
mainland Chinese or for locals? Because it seems to me that this is
HIGHER than the wage of Filipino maids in Hong Kong. Is this true? And
of course, USD$1000 in they eyes of mainland Chinese must like gold!!

what do you mean by mainland Chinese or locals?
If Mr. Chow is not a local, how can his wife and kids come to HK.
One adult can get appr. USD250 each month plus rental at a reim-
bursement basis but of course with a top most amount.
Under Mr. Chow's case, If the word children means two childs, then
the rental they got at least enough for them to have a 40 sq. meters
home.

even this communists' dog can only dare to say {part of reason}.
really there are much and more !!!
of course, the greedy nature of this communists' dog is rejecting such
reason, because communists' dogs are bred to rob others fruit as the basic
foundation of establishing PRC !!!!

[the Basic Laws can be used to stop such reunion] ???
what this communists' dog means by {reunion} here ????
that is communists' dogs' english's terrible-ness !!!!!

mighty is right !!!
commenting on what the court and prc's interpreting basic law is tedious !!!
mercy in the world is to be given to families divided under political
pressure, not such greedy desire to divide the families at their
willingness and initiation !!!!
that see how greedy the mainlanders to distort the "mercy" practice !!!!
westerner criticize not the basic law , but prc's eating its words in
promising not to interfene into hongknog's affairs !!!

The whole question is a not for real from the beginning.

Most of the HKers were originally mainlanders. Some of these mainland
Chinese immigrants are successful and some are not. The one big
difference
between HKers no matter when did they arrive Hong Kong is whether they
got into the housing market early. If they invest in any real estate
early, they
would have better life. But this reflects the post WII babyboom which
is also
true in other parts of the world.
