Well, back in 1996 and 2000 there was a lot more China-bashing going on
especially during the Taiwan elections. But in the last few years China
bashing died down because most Taiwanese realized that their China-bashing
preznit was doing shit for the economy by avoiding China, and was actually
more corrupt than your average CCP or KMT offical.
This year, along with the Olympics a new batch of China-bashers were born.
They are made up of mostly white Asian-philes and probable are even more
ignorant about China. Their issue du jour is "Tibet freedom" although most
of them have no idea where the fuck Tibet is. They complain that there is
no democracy in Tibet and then worship the Tibetan leader, who is all for
Democracy as long as it doesn't apply to process of electing the next Lama.
Most of them actually think of themselves as saviors of Chinese people and
that their newly found cause will help them score with the Asian
ladies/dudes.
