Old iDiot (OD), you really dont know how to read the following chart
you presented. No wonder you argued and refused to listen...
http://indexmundi.com/g/g.aspx?c=tw&v=66
In the chart, the line of year represents previous year of economic
growth. For example, line 2008 shows Taiwan's economic growth in 2007
about 5%%. And line 2002 shows Taiwan's economic growth in 2001 about
-2%%, a negative growth for first time in 50 years. Chen Shui-bian was
in power in 2001.
Below link is an article for Taiwan's economic growth (-1.91%%) in
2001. Now say "Thank you" to your Confucius, abianchen. Haha!
Or if you want to twist or deny, do it, show everyone, I love to see
you twist things. And I am counting. Haha!

After the negative growth experienced in 2001--the worst performance
in modern Taiwan history--the economy has started to regain strength.
But numerous challenges will need to be faced for Taiwan to
demonstrate its long-term economic competitiveness.
Last year when Taiwan registered minus 1.91-percent growth in gross
domestic product (GDP) as calculated by the Directorate General of
Budget, Accounting, and Statistics (DGBAS), the national statistics
office, it was the first time in Taiwan's post-World War II history
that negative economic growth had been recorded.
Also, here’s Hong Kong economic growth chart your presented:

Hong Kong did not have negative economic growth in 2001 as you
claimed, it had negative growth in 2002. Understand, OD (Old iDiot)!
Haha!
