China says relations with US 'harmed,' cancelled Kitty Hawk visit
deliberate
BEIJING - China's last-minute cancellation of a U.S. Navy visit to
Hong Kong wasn't a misunderstanding, but rather a result of ties with
Washington being "disturbed and harmed," the Chinese Foreign Ministry
said Thursday.
Spokesman Liu Jianchao did not directly say what had prompted the
cancellation, although he alluded to recent actions that angered
Beijing, including the U.S. Congress honoring the Dalai Lama and U.S.
arms sales to Taiwan.
Liu denounced a report that said Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi
told U.S. President George W. Bush that barring aircraft carrier USS
Kitty Hawk from entering Hong Kong harbor last week was a
misunderstanding.
"The report is not in line with the facts," Liu said at a regular news
briefing. He refused to elaborate.

This is a Pearl harbour event.
The Chinese could have sunk the whole task force, then declare war in
an E-mail to White House.

Dont know... Looks like the policy is pretty consistent something like
you give me a hard time I will retaliate (e.g., Germany, USA) or I
will give you multi-billion contracts (e.g., France).
And that's why French President said Taiwan is part of PRC last week
when he was in Beijing.

Did he say part of PRC or part of China? This is the only quote I
found:
http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90776/90883/6309926.html
French President Nicolas Sarkozy said yesterday that his country
opposes "Taiwan independence" and the island's push for a referendum
next year on UN membership.
France holds that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is
an integral part of China, which is the general position of the
international community, Sarkozy said.

For those nations that *recognized* "there is only one China in the
world, and Taiwan is an integral part of China", that means Taiwan is
part of PRC.
USA will not say that because it only "acknowledged" China's position.

Maybe. But when the French president says "Taiwan is part of China"
that sounds different than "Taiwan is part of the PRC". No one in the
world ever says "Taiwan is part of the PRC". Why not?
