Looks like the video conveniently forget to mention America's nuclear
threat to China's industrial region as if Mao woke up one fine day and
decided that the people should try the "earthy way to refine steel"
for fun.

LT Lee, you are really a strange person! If I were you, I would not
defend Mao's brutal rule, it's mission impossible. How can you defend
his class struggle, Cultural Revolution, Great Leap Forward, one by
one never end until he died.

If I were you, I would say this "Yes, that's horror past but after DXP
in power, China is finally on the right track, let's remember the
bitter past and look forward to the future". If you and baldeagle had
said this, I would have already stopped, now you two just drag on and
dont know when to stop... now more and more people are going to watch
those videos and be horrified... Maybe you are CIA spy and want entire
world to know how brutal Mao was??? Haha!

I am not blaming America for the sake of blaming America. Nor am I
saying America's belligerence had made Mao a saint. Rather, I am
trying to point out the obvious. Events did have causes. Every event
had it own history, it did not just happen as if in a vacuum. In
addition, anyone who really wants to udnerstand China must try to see
things from China's point of view. To be sure, the GLF was a mistake.
But the decision was made when China was under existential threat. The
threat of China nuclear bombed back to the stone age. This undergrided
Mao's decision as well as his influence, among the leaders, if not the
people in general.

Coverage not mentioning China's existential threat is no better than
cold war era propaganda. However, I am not surpirsed by such one sided
coverage. Nothing new. Not different from TIers talk about Taiwan
without mentioning Taiwan's hsitory. Or Tibetan supporters talk about
Tibet without mentioning Tibet was part of China long before the PRC.

When Liu Shao qi and DXP were in power, they were not acting like Mao
so stop BS! Mao was a mad man!

Of course they all realized Mao's approach did not work. This was
exactly why Mao surrender his power following the LoShan conference.

Anyway, Deng knew the difficulty of governing China. Hence his famous
words of "crossing the river by touching the stone." Very cautious.
Like a blind man. Implication: China could only governed with a sense
of humility. Mao was not mad. But he certainly did not have the sense
of humility.

Certainty tends to corrupt; absolute certainty corrupts absolutely.

As I had explained to you in another post, it is not my intention to
defend Mao. I object critiicizing Mao or anyone. Why should I?
However, I pointed out the obvious. If you want to link the famine to
Mao's policy, you need to provide the facts. Without facts linking
them, the famine was correctly described as natural disaster.

You are just fucking CCP dog. Great Chinese Famine was not just
natural disaster but more man made disaster and it's because Mao's
Great Leap Forward So-called "3 years' natural disaster" was a CCP's
coverup. Why dont you watch videos to see why Mao is responsible for
Great Chinese Famine, everything is in the videos!!!

After his Great Leap Forward, did Mao learn the lesson? DXP and Liu
Shao qi just put the nation back to the right track, then he launched
another mad movement called "Cultural Revolution", students against
teachers, children against parents... is that how China should be
like, huh? You tell me if Mao was mad or not if you still have any
conscience!!! Apparently, you dont you must be a fucking CCP dog
running old CCP propaganda here!
