Dear Friend,
I am doing a study on why Hmong individual or business support Hmong
nonprofit. It will only take 2 minutes to answer a few questions. Your
answers are important because your contribution to the community is
what makes the community strong.
1. What is the major deciding factor why you make a charitable
contribution (time or money) to a Hmong nonprofit?
2. Once you make a charitable contribution, what do you expect from
the Hmong nonprofit?
3. How high would you rank the leadership of the Hmong nonprofit you
are supporting?
4. Of all the Hmong nonprofits that you know, which one do you best
think share the same values as you do?
5. How would you like to be recognized for your contributions?
Please answer the best you can. I am very thankful for your time and
energy.
Sincerely,
dai

Dai,
1. Because there is a friendship connection within the organization,
and when asked, i just cannot ignore. Non-profit organizations are
not effective in the community. many EDs had told me that they were
there just working 8 to 5pm as normal people as you and i. therefore,
if that is the case, such that they were not there to strategy and
plan for a better future for the hmong community at-large…the reason
there were there is the $$$ that paid them to work.
2. because I gave it as friendship, I did not expect any return
services, as it was a gift.
3. there is no leadership, they were there just typical worker from
8-5pm, as I had questioned many of Eds and employees from non-profit
organizations.
4. Fruit will never fall far from it tree root, I did not see any one
is better than the others.
5. if they would being there, as to strategy and plan for better
future of the needed and fortunate…and/or come out to work hard,
participate and guidance to the community. I then would be gladly to
give them more.

Answers to your questions.

Rather throw my money and time in my backyard then give them to the
Feds where they will buy a screw for $1,000. If you think Hmong orgs
are corrupt, you have no clue how the corrupted the feds are. The
Feds throw billions around the world (i.e. Pakistan) where the money
could be use to harm us.

Nonprofit orgs, whether Hmong or others, has their own boards
directing their activities. Unless your contribution is subtantial,
it's unfair to demand they serve your biddings for pennies on the
dollar. Those who donate $20 and expect to go to Heaven are a bit
immature.
