... Our area is also called Texoma because we're right above TX...not exactly in the middle. The confusion arises, I think because Chicago is considered to be "the midwest". That started being true when the Mississippi was the western border of the yoo-ess. And when we expanded westward, the monikers for the various regions never changed. Very astute Odd, I agree.
